The iPhone 16 series’ battery details have been leaked. While all models will get a bigger battery, this may not happen for the iPhone 16 Plus as there may not be any upgrade for it. Have a look at the details.
iPhone 16 Plus Will Reportedly Not Get a Battery Upgrade
The latest information about the iPhone 16 series battery capacities comes from Ovo on Weibo and Majin Bu on X. While the former is a relatively new supply chain tipster, the latter has been posting Apple leaks for a while now with a certain level of accuracy.
Majin Bu has compared the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 series battery capacities but hasn’t shared the iPhone 16 Pro models’ battery capacity. Ovo has the details of all four models. Have a look.

As you can see in the table above, Apple will reportedly upgrade the battery capacities of the iPhone 16, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max models. However, the surprising bit of the latest leak is that the iPhone 16 Plus is said to have an 8.6% smaller battery than the iPhone 15 Plus.
Apple is known for making its Plus model iPhones the battery champ in the lineup every year. Both the iPhone 14 Plus and iPhone 15 Plus have been known for offering phenomenal battery life. Notably, the iPhone 14 Plus and iPhone 15 Plus topped the charts in the DxOMark battery test when they launched, with 128 and 131 points, respectively. Apple is known for bumping up the battery capacity or introducing a more efficient chipset in Plus models.
According to the rumours, the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will be powered by the A18 processor based on the 3nm process. This could help the iPhone 16 Plus to still offer the 26 hours of battery backup as its predecessors, even with a smaller capacity. The 3nm process was restricted to the Pro models in the iPhone 15 series.
