Just like every year, Apple is set to drop four models – iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. We can expect improvements in chipsets, displays, cameras, and some extra tweaks. Here’s everything we know so far:

iPhone 16 Pro Rumoured Colour Options
According to a new leak from the Chinese social media platform Weibo, the Cupertino Giant is preparing to unveil the upcoming iPhone 16 and probably the 16 Pro in new Space black and Rose colourways. These new additions will coexist with the classic White and a new shade of Gray (previously known as Natural Titanium). The leak also suggests that Apple will discontinue the Blue Titanium option on the iPhone 15 Pro series.
iPhone 16 Series Expected Design
According to a Bloomberg report, Apple is planning to introduce a new dedicated Capture button on the iPhone 16 series. Notably, this button will be haptic, meaning it won’t physically move when pressed.

Additionally, leaked renders suggest that the upcoming non-Pro iPhones will feature a vertically aligned camera island on the back, resembling a blend of the camera setups seen on the iPhone X and iPhone 11.
There are rumours about Apple incorporating an Action button on non-Pro devices.
Talking about the iPhone 16 Pro, the latest rumours suggest it will have a big change in the camera design. Nothing’s confirmed by the Cupertino Giant yet, but there are reports that they’re testing this new design.

However, people on social media don’t like this design at all. The supposed camera design of the iPhone 16 Pro is getting a lot of criticism on platforms like X.

If rumours turn out to be true, then this year, we will see larger displays for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. According to display analyst Ross Young, the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro is anticipated to sport a 6.3-inch display, marking a 0.2-inch increase compared to the current iPhone 15 Pro. Similarly, the iPhone 16 Pro Max is expected to feature a 6.9-inch display, which is also 0.2 inches larger than the current iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Conversely, the display sizes for the non-Pro models are likely to stay unchanged. This means the iPhone 16 will come with a 6.1-inch display, while the iPhone 16 Plus will feature a 6.7-inch display.
Leaks also indicate that non-Pro iPhones will finally incorporate a 120Hz refresh rate in 2024.
iPhone 16 Series Expected Chipset
As is the norm each year, we can expect the introduction of a new chipset, likely named the A18 Pro, set to debut on the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. On the other hand, the non-Pro models are also anticipated to feature a fresh chipset, likely an upgraded version of the A17 chipset, though not identical to the A17 Pro found in the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

AI is the buzzword of 2024; we all know about Samsung’s focus on AI with its suite of Galaxy AI features introduced with the latest Galaxy S24 Series. And it seems like Apple doesn’t want to be left behind in this race.
Gurman’s Power On newsletter suggests that iOS 18, set to debut with the iPhone 16 lineup, will incorporate generative AI to enhance Siri and the Messages app in handling queries and auto-completing sentences.
Moreover, a September report from the Information indicates Apple’s plans to leverage large language models to enhance Siri’s intelligence.

Apple expert Majin Bu tweeted about the iPhone 16 series batteries. The regular iPhone 16 is said to get a bigger 3,561mAh battery, the iPhone 16 Plus might get a large 4,006mAh battery, and the top-line iPhone 16 Pro Max will likely have a 4,676mAh battery. Unfortunately, there’s no information about the battery capacity of the iPhone 16 Pro.
