iQOO launched its flagship iQOO 12 and iQOO 12 Pro smartphones in the first week of November 2023. The brand previously confirmed that the vanilla smartphone will be launching in India in December. iQOO later confirmed that the device will debut on December 12 in India. The micro-site of the device is live on Amazon India’s and iQOO India’swebsites.
iQOO has been teasing the specifications of the upcoming flagship smartphone through multiple teasers shared in X (formerly Twitter). iQOO will be the first OEM to debut a smartphone with Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset in India. The brand claims that the forthcoming iQOO flagship smartphone will also secure the first device in India tag in other aspects.
The latest teaser shared by iQOO confirms that the upcoming iQOO 12 will run on Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14 out of the box. iQOO has secured the first position in launching a smartphone with Android 14 out of the box in the non-Pixel category. The forthcoming iQOO device will be the first to launch with Funtouch OS 14 out of the box.
iQOO launched the smartphone in the Chinese market with Origin OS 4 based on Android 14. The upcoming device will be the first to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC in India. iQOO teases that the device features a 30% improvement in CPU and a 20% improvement in GPU performance in comparison to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset will pair with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. The Vivo-owned brand is yet to confirm whether it will debut the 16GB + 1TB variant in India. iQOO also ensures that it will equip the device with a white enamel glass and porthole design on the rear. The upcoming device will also feature a dedicated iQOO Q1 Supercomputing chip for enhanced gaming performance.
The forthcoming flagship smartphone from iQOO will sport a 6K large vapour chamber and 144Hz game frame interpolation. The upcoming device is slated to feature a 6.74-inch flat AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution. The display will have a peak brightness of 3000 nits, which will rival other flagship smartphones. iQOO might launch the smartphone in India with minor improvements in comparison to the Chinese variant.
