iQOO Neo 9 Series Might Feature 50MP Sony IMX920 Sensor; Launch Expected Next Month in China

iQOO recently unveiled the iQOO 12 series smartphones such as the iQOO 12 and the iQOO 12 Pro in China. After the launch of the iQOO 12 Pro, it looks like iQOO is already working towards the launch of a couple of new smartphones i.e. the iQOO Neo 9 series. Similar to the iQOO Neo 8 lineup, the Neo 9 series is expected to include two phones namely the iQOO Neo 9 and the iQOO Neo 9 Pro. While we wait for the launch of these devices, popular Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed the camera specifications of the iQOO Neo 9 series.

iQOO Neo 9 Series Might Launch in China Next Month

As per the information shared by tipster Digital Chat Station, the upcoming iQOO smartphone will sport a 50MP primary camera. The company might make use of a Sony IMX920 sensor for the main camera for the iQOO handset. Though the tipster hasn’t revealed the exact name of the device, the Sony IMX920 will be incorporated, we expect the smartphone to be from the Neo 9 series only, considering that its launch is tipped for next month. The same Sony IMX920 sensor is also tipped to be included in the Vivo X100 series which is set to launch in China on November 13.

Currently, iQOO has not revealed any details about the iQOO 9 series such as its launch date or any specifications. We might get to learn more information about this upcoming lineup courtesy of a few certifications as the days pass.

The iQOO Neo 9 series will arrive as a successor to the Neo 8 lineup. To recall, the devices in the iQOO 8 series feature a 6.78-inch display with a 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. The display panel on these smartphones have up to 1300 nits brightness and a punch-hole cutout which accommodates the selfie camera. These devices pack up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage respectively. As for the software, these smartphones run Android 13 out of the box with a layer of Origin OS 3 on top.

The iQOO Neo 8 is powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, while the Neo 8 Pro uses a Dimensity 9200+ chipset. Both these devices feature a 50MP dual-camera setup and a 16MP selfie camera. These smartphones pack a 5,000mAh battery which supports 120W fast charging. The other key features which these devices offer include an in-display fingerprint sensor, Stereo speakers, and 5G support.
