Jio has announced Jio AirFiber service to take on Airtel Xstream AirFiber in India.
Jio offers as many as 6 plans while Airtel is offering only one plan as of now.

Jio AirFiber is now officially launched in India to take on Airtel’s Xstream AirFiber service. Both these devices are aimed at bringing fibre-grade internet speeds to areas that do not have access to Fiber connectivity. While this is largely aimed at rural places across India to create the last mile connection.
These devices are also useful for locations or houses where the Fiber connectivity is yet to arrive. This tower-like internet device can offer 5G internet connectivity without any long and lengthy optic fibre cable. This is a simple plug-and-play device, which is aimed at offering high-speed internet connectivity and also being portable. List of Airtel Xstream Fiber Plans
As of September 2023, Airtel is offering only one plan in India for its Xstream AirFiber service. There is a 100 Mbps plan with a 3.3TB (3333 GB) limit. This plan costs Rs 799 per month. However, it is only available in a 6-month plan, which will cost Rs 7,733, including Rs 2,500 security deposit.
Top Jio AirFiber Plans vs. Airtel Xstream Fiber Plans
With Airtel offering only one plan as of now, let’s compare that with Jio’s plan.
Airtel Xstream Fiber costs Rs 799 + GST per month and the Jio AirFiber costs Rs 899 per month. Airtel has a limit of 3.3TB while Jio says it will offer unlimited data with all its plans. For an extra Rs 100, Jio is offering subscriptions for 14 OTT apps mentioned above including Disney+Hotstar, SonyLiv, Zee5 and much more. In addition to the OTT apps, Jio will also offer a free 4K TV set-top box (550+ channels) with a voice-active remote.
In terms of availability, the Jio AirFiber is currently available in 8 cities across India.

Both the devices from Jio and Airtel are trying to solve the same issue here. While Airtel is offering is slightly cheaper plan, it is available only in two cities. On the other hand, Jio is offering in 8 cities across India with plans starting as low as Rs 599 + GST. In terms of hardware, both devices are powered by Wi-Fi 6 capable of delivering up to 9.6 Gbps speeds with 8×8 MIMO and better power efficiency as well. One major Pro for these devices is the range. With AirFiber devices, users can actually get Wi-Fi connectivity even if they are far away from the device. Jio says the AirFiber can cover up to 100 sqft area within the same floor.
