It has been about a month since Samsung shared a teaser of the Galaxy Ring, an upcoming smart wearable health and wellness product by the brand. The teaser did not mention the launch timeline but we finally have an official word on that. Daniel Seung, Global head of B2B Wearable/IoT/Accessory at Samsung Electronics posted on LinkedIn that the Galaxy Ring will debut in the second half of 2024.

Seung said, “New health & wellness wearable product in the 2nd half. Please, stay tuned,” while sharing a post featuring the upcoming smart wearable teaser video clip.

This is something that was tipped by tech analyst Avi Greegart recently. It is expected to launch alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 at the second Galaxy Unpacked event of the year. This usually happens in the July-September timeline, so, this is when the Galaxy Ring will arrive.

Samsung Galaxy Ring: What We Know So Far?

The Galaxy Ring has been rumoured for a while. It is the first time Samsung is venturing into the smart ring product category and will compete against the likes of Oura Generation 3 and Ultrahuman Ring Air globally. In India, its rivals will include the likes of boAt Smart Ring, Noise Luna Ring, and possibly Amazfit Hello Ring. The latter is not confirmed to get an India launch yet.

Samsung Galaxy Ring feature MSP

For the uninitiated, a smart ring is a ring-like device that you wear on your finger. It helps you track health and wellness-related aspects of your body similar to a smartwatch. The major difference is that a smart ring is more convenient and lighter, and is easier to wear, especially when sleeping.

The Galaxy Ring will likely be the lightest smart ring in the market. It is said to have multiple ring size options going up to 13 to suit a wide range of users. The official teaser showed the smart ring in Silver colour but rumours suggest there would be three different colour options for buyers to pick from.

The upcoming smart ring was recently spotted in the Samsung Good Lock app. It was listed alongside other Galaxy devices within the battery widget settings of the application. This is another hint that Galaxy Ring is getting closer to an official launch. It should also work with the Samsung Health app to show detailed insights about one’s body and health. The smart ring is expected to offer heart-rate monitoring, sleep tracking, SpO2 tracking, and stress level monitoring among other health features.

Since the official launch timeline is for the second half of the year, we will not see the Galaxy Ring hit stores anytime soon. However, it does not mean Samsung will not talk about or share new Galaxy Ring teasers in the meantime. Not to forget, there will be more rumours. We will keep you in the loop as and when new information comes in.
