Samsung Galaxy S23+ US Variant with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, 8GB RAM Listed on Geekbench Months Ahead of Launch

Samsung is expected to launch the Samsung Galaxy S23 series sometime in early 2023. The Galaxy S23 lineup is expected to consist of three smartphones – the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra. In a new development, we have spotted the Samsung Galaxy S23+ with the model number SM-S916U smartphone on the Geekbench benchmark database. Based on the model number, this appears to be the US variant of the smartphone.

The Geekbench certification listing for the Galaxy S23+ does reveal some of the key specifications. Going by the listing, the Samsung Galaxy S23+ will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, which is yet to be announced. Let us take a closer look at the Samsung Galaxy S23+ Geekbench benchmark scores and specifications.

The Samsung Galaxy S23+ scored 1485 points in the single core round of the Geekbench 5 test. Whereas, in the multi-core round of the same test, the score was recorded as 4844 points. The listing further reveals the presence of an octa-core SoC with code name kalama and 1 + 3 + 4 core configuration. The prime core is clocked at 3.36GHz frequency. Whereas, three cores are clocked at 2.80GHz frequency. Upon digging further, we also spotted the mention of Qualcomm Adreno 740 GPU.

The Geekbench listing for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23+ suggests that the smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. Apart from it, the listing also reveals the presence of 8GB of RAM under the hood. We can expect Samsung to launch the Galaxy S23+ in other memory configurations as well. The smartphone will come pre-loaded with Android 13, but as usual, it will be topped with Samsung’s OneUI.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Ultra have already been spotted on the Geekbench database. All three devices will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor which is expected to be announced at Snapdragon Tech Summit.
