The Galaxy S8, S8+ One UI beta went live for the phone users in India first, as they received the notification. For the Galaxy Note 8, the beta has been released in other markets including South Korea and the United Kingdom. The registrations for the Galaxy S8 and S8+ users in India have been opened via Samsung Members app. It was quite apparent with the extension of One UI to the Galaxy Note 9 that Samsung is not keeping the latest UI to the recent flagships only.
Interested Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+ users can register for the One UI beta program via Samsung Members app. There are two firmware versions – G950FXXU4ZSA5 and G955FXXU4ZSA5 for the Galaxy S8 and S8+ respectively.

To register for the One UI beta on the Galaxy S8 or the Galaxy S8+, here’s what the users will need to do:
Step 1: Open Google Play Store and Install ‘Samsung Members‘ app Step 2: After installation, look for ‘Registrations Open for One UI Beta Program’ banner in the app. When spotted, click on it and tap on ‘Register’ Step 3: You will now find a page consisting of details about the program. Click on ‘Register’ button again Step 4: After your registration is successful, head to your device’s Settings menu and open ‘Software Update’. Click on Download updates manually, which will trigger the manual search, if an update is found, download it.
The beta update will weigh around 1.5GB. Users must follow the instructions to update it. After the completion of the installation process, your phone will reboot, and you’ll start with Android 9.0 Pie-based One UI experience. Remember, being a beta update; you will come across a few inadequacies that will be corrected in the stable version of the One UI, which is expected to roll out in by Q2 2019.
