Possible Sony PlayStation Earbuds and USB Transceiver Gets FCC Certification, Could Launch Soon

Sony teased their upcoming PlayStation wireless earbuds back in May. Since then the company has not shared any details regarding these upcoming earbuds nor it has revealed its launch date. These upcoming earbuds were recently spotted at the Bluetooth SIG certification. The Bluetooth SIG certification certified the Sony PlayStation headset (YY2977) and a USB transceiver (YY2980). Now, in a recent development, both these upcoming products have received the required FCC certification.

Sony PlayStation Earbuds To Have Bluetooth LE Audio And Noise Cancellation Support

The FCC certification has listed these upcoming PlayStation wireless earbuds with model number YY2977. Additionally, the USB transceiver carries the model number YY2980. The FCC certification reveals that these upcoming earbuds will have Bluetooth LE audio support. The certification has mentioned the EUT type as a wireless noise-cancelling gaming headset, which confirms that these earbuds will have noise-cancelling support.

Apart from the FCC certification and Bluetooth SIG certification, these upcoming earbuds are also certified by IMDA and TDRA. To recall, Sony had showcased these earbuds earlier and they can be used with PlayStation 5, PC, or Sony’s upcoming Project Q handheld device. The company also has previously mentioned that these earbuds will have a new wireless technology support to make them capable of offering lossless audio.

Currently, Sony is yet to reveal the launch date of these earbuds. We shall get to learn more details from the company as the days pass. In a piece of related news, Sony recently announced the Sony WF-1000XM5 noise-cancelling earbuds. These earbuds from Sony arrive as a successor to the Sony WF-1000XM4. The Sony WF-1000XM5 features a comfortable design, 8.44mm dynamic drivers, and multi-point connect support. These earbuds have bone conduction sensors for clear voice calls, auto Play for seamless music and audio notifications, and precise voice pickup technology.

These earbuds have LDAC technology support, dual feedback microphones, and noise-isolation ear tips. Users can also activate Google Assistant and Alexa with the device. As for the battery life, these earbuds have 8 hours of battery life. They also have quick charging support and an IPX4 rating for water resistance.
