Xiaomi Mi 11 Officially Confirmed to Launch on December 28 in China, Will be the First Phone with Snapdragon 888 Chipset

Xiaomi has officially confirmed that its Mi 11 smartphone will launch on December 28, 2020 in China. This essentially makes the Mi 11 the first-ever to run on the latest Snapdragon 888 processor.

Ever since Qualcomm announced its latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, almost all leading smartphone manufacturers have announced their upcoming flagship smartphones, which will essentially make use of the latest Snapdragon chipset. Xiaomi, however, appears to have taken the lead when it comes to an actual launch, as its Xiaomi Mi 11 smartphone would be the first-ever smartphone in the world to be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor. A little while ago, rumors surrounding the launch date of the Xiaomi Mi 11 smartphone spread like wildfire and we got to know that the device would supposedly launch on December 29, 2020. Today, the brand has made the launch date official and there are slight modifications – the Xiaomi Mi 11 smartphone will launch one day earlier than its leaked launch date – December 28, 2020.

Xiaomi Mi 11 launch date officially confirmed

The company has finally made the launch date of its Xiaomi Mi 11 smartphone official via its Weibo handle. The launch event will take place at 7:30PM (local time).

Coming to the specifications of the device, the Xiaomi Mi 11 is confirmed to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor. The device is said to feature an OLED panel with a left-aligned single punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. The display of the Xiaomi Mi 11 is said to be curved around the edges.

Coming to the cameras of the device, the Xiaomi Mi 11 series is said to integrate a large 108MP sensor, but we are not sure whether or not the vanilla variant will also feature the same sensor. Plus, the Pro variant in the Xiaomi Mi 11 series is also tipped to feature a 2K AMOLED panel.
