iOS 16, the latest iPhone software update, will be rolled out to users on September 12. Apple confirmed the rollout of the new iOS update for its iPhone models at the Far out event, where the company announced its new iPhone 14 series. The new iPhone 14 series will come with iOS 16 out of the box. Older iPhone models in India and other markets will also get the new software update.
Apple did not reveal the exact time of the iOS 16 release. However, based on the previous rollout timelines, it is safe to say that Apple will release the update late in the evening for users in India.
When will iOS 16 Release for iPhone Users in India?
Apple will release the new iOS 16 update for iPhone users on September 12. The company did not reveal the time but the new iOS update is expected to roll out at 10.30 pm IST. Apple, in the past, has released a new software update for the iPhone in India at 10.30 pm. We can expect the same for the upcoming iOS update.
That being said, there have been instances when the update was released later than usual. For instance, iOS 14 was released at 1 pm PT on September 16, 2020, whereas users in India got the update at 1.30 am on September 17, 2020. This is three hours later than the usual release time. However, iOS 15 and some of the recently released iOS updates were rolled out to users at 10.30 pm IST every year.
There is no official word on the timing and therefore, while one can speculate, there is no assurance of the new iOS update rolling out at 10.30 pm IST.
Users, meanwhile, can start preparing to download and install iOS 16 by taking a backup of their data on the iPhone. It is also worth noting that the update might take some time to download and install initially since many users are likely to be updating their iPhones to the latest software on the evening of the rollout.
How to Update to iOS 16 on iPhone?
Updating your iPhone to the latest software is quite simple. Users need to go to Settings > General> Software Update and tap on “Download and Install” once the update is available. Again, we would advise taking a backup of your data before installing the new update.
Since the update would also be large in size, it would be best to download it while on a secure and stable Wi-Fi connection.
