Similar to last year, this year’s iPhone event will take place at the Steve Jobs Theater on the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California. At this event, Apple is expected to introduce the iPhone 15 series.

iPhone 15 Series: What We Know So Far

Similar to last year’s iPhone 14 lineup, the iPhone 15 series is likely to include four devices. The Apple iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Pro are rumoured to boast a 6.1-inch OLED display, similar to their predecessor. On the other hand, the iPhone 15 Plus and the iPhone 15 Ultra might feature a 6.7-inch OLED display. Powering these upcoming iPhones under the hood there could be Apple’s in-house Apple A17 Bionic chipset.Apple 14 pro max Apple iPhone 15 Ultra pro max plus Days sale iPhone 15 plus pro max Apple Sale DaysThe camera is one such aspect that is set to get a huge upgrade for a long time. The previous report suggests that the iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Plus will implement a 48MP camera setup compared to a 12MP sensor which we saw in the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Plus. The iPhone 15 Ultra on the other hand could make use of a Sony IMX903 sensor, as per prediction from tipster Ice Universe.

There have been rumours that Apple might call its top-end iPhone 15 model as the iPhone 15 Ultra, instead of the iPhone 15 Pro Max. These details were shared by AppleInsider journalist Andrew O’hara on X (formerly Twitter) recently. The journalist has confirmed the change in nomenclature citing multiple sources. Furthermore, O’hara also had mentioned that the iPhone 15 Ultra will have a bigger display and a 10X periscope lens.

As far as the other changes in the iPhone 15 go, we might get to see the lineup implementing a USB Type-C charging instead of Lightning, considering the new laws in Europe. The previous leak also suggests that the iPhone 15 might ship with colour-matched braided USB-C cables. There are rumours that each cable could be available in colour similar to the shade of the iPhone 15 model. A recent leak also indicates that the iPhone 15 Pro will get new Gray and Blue colour replacing the Gold and Purple. Additionally, some rumours suggest that the iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Plus will get a new Light Green colour which Apple is likely to call Mint.

As mentioned above, at the same event, alongside the iPhone 15 series, Apple might unveil the Apple Watch Series 9. The upcoming Apple Watch Series 9 is expected to make use of a new S-series chip which could offer improved performance. As per the previous report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple could implement the S9 chip with the Watch 9 Series. The S9 chipset is rumoured to be based on Apple’s A15 Bionic chipset which is used in the iPhone 12, iPhone 13, iPhone 14, and other devices. Apple also could unveil the successor to the Apple Watch Ultra, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 along with the Series 9 smartwatch.

Similar to the Apple Watch Series 9, the Apple Watch 2 Ultra could ship with S9 series chipset. The Watch 2 Ultra is rumoured to be lighter than the first-generation Ultra smartwatch, and it could also feature 3D-printed mechanical parts. Last but not least, Apple also could make some announcements regarding the iOS 17, iPadOS 17, tvOS 1, and the WatchOS 10 at the same event. Apple is expected to release the stable version of the iOS 17 and other operating systems next month, considering that it has been testing and releasing the beta version of the same for the last few months.
