Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals has launched its new Ameo Air Fryer Series in India, to offer a healthier and more convenient cooking option for modern homes. The lineup focuses on oil-free cooking, faster preparation times, and quieter operation, making it suitable for busy families and working professionals who want quick, nutritious meals without much effort.
The launch strengthens Crompton’s presence in a category dominated by Philips, Inalsa and Havells, where preset-led convenience and faster heating cycles have increasingly become table stakes.

The Ameo range brings some important features. Nutriguard Technology is designed to retain more nutrients compared to deep frying. Quick Fry Technology uses a Super Helix Heating Element and Jet Turbo Fins for faster, even heating. SilentPro Technology keeps noise levels low at just 45 dB. The series supports oil-free cooking through advanced air circulation, and the removable non-stick tray makes cleaning easier. Crompton has also kept size in mind by offering a compact design with a large 4.2-litre basket capacity. These additions matter for Indian kitchens, where quick reheating, minimal oil usage and low-noise appliances are becoming part of daily cooking routines
The premium Ameo DLX variant adds a see-through cooking window, an internal cooking lamp, and touch controls with preset menus. Crompton has priced the DLX model at around ₹5,790. A larger 4.5-litre NourisPro variant is also available for households that need more heating power and temperature control up to 200°C. The products are now available across major retail outlets in India.
The launch comes at a time when the Indian kitchen appliances market is expanding rapidly. The sector was valued at around USD 6.06 billion in 2024 and is expected to almost double by 2033. The rise of urban living, growing disposable incomes, and the demand for compact and energy-efficient appliances are key drivers. South India leads in adoption, and consumers are increasingly looking for smart appliances that fit seamlessly into modern kitchen designs. Leading brands in this space include, Bajaj Electricals, Bosch, Philips, Havells, LG, Samsung and Inalsa, each offering products that cater to different budgets and needs.
Air fryers, in particular, have become a popular choice in Indian households. They fit well with the shift towards healthier cooking, especially for those who want to reduce oil consumption without losing the taste and crispiness of typical Indian snacks. Air fryers also save time, work well for a variety of dishes, and help maintain a clean and odour-free kitchen environment, making them a practical daily-use appliance.
For anyone planning to buy an air fryer, a few points are worth considering. Capacity is important: 3–4 litres is good for smaller families, while 5 litres or more suits larger households. Adjustable temperature and timer settings allow for better precision, especially for Indian recipes. Preset menus make cooking easier for beginners. A non-stick, easy-to-clean basket saves effort. Energy consumption and useful safety features, such as automatic shut-off, should also be checked. Brand reliability and after-sales support can make a difference in long-term satisfaction. Crompton’s Ameo series does not reinvent the wheel, but the DLX variant’s viewing window and quieter operation may appeal to first-time buyers who want something more than the basic presets offered by budget rivals.
