There is a quiet shift happening in Indian kitchens. Once a niche product for health-focused users, air fryers have become one of the fastest-growing countertop appliances. Brands are racing to capture this wave of demand, but few are rethinking the materials that go into the product. NUUK believes the next big leap in cooking appliances will come from healthier, more durable coatings and better design.
The company's new BRĪSK Air Fryer, priced at ₹8,999, introduces a Swiss-made ILAG CeramicTech coating that is free from PFAS, PFOA, lead, and cadmium. It headlines NUUK's latest portfolio expansion, which also includes two new heating appliances, the HÖT BLOX Oil-Filled Radiator and HÖT BAR PTC Heater, both designed around energy efficiency and modern aesthetics. While the brand has a novel approach, it is also a relatively new brand and will have to go head-on with well-established players in the market, such as Philips and Inalsa, to make its mark. While we are yet to get this product for review but here is all we have gathered about it from the press release.
A Safer and Smarter Way to Cook
While most air fryers rely on PTFE-based non-stick coatings, NUUK replaces them with a food-safe ceramic layer for long-term durability and toxin-free performance. The BRĪSK comes with a 6.5-litre capacity and a 1600W stainless-steel heating element for faster, more even cooking. A transparent viewing window with an internal light allows users to monitor food mid-cycle without opening the basket, offering a level of convenience not often found in this segment. The transparent window is gaining popularity, and many brands are already offering this in the same price range. We had recently reviewed an Inalsa Air Fryer that had a transparent window.
Designed for Indian Kitchens
The company, like all other brands, claims that BRĪSK has been built with Indian users in mind. It features eight preset modes for popular local cooking styles, including Tandoor, Crispy Fry, Grill, Bake, and Dehydrate. According to the press release the digital touch controls are simple to navigate and we would be looking to validate this claim when we get this product for review. The ceramic-coated basket is removable and dishwasher-safe. NUUK offers the air fryer in three matte colour options, which include Nuuk Red, Serene Grey, and Sesame Grey. The company believes that these will blend well with contemporary kitchen décor. While most air fryers today come in black and grey tones, it is interesting that the company has decided to give three colour options, and the choice of red colour is absolutely unique. The only other product that had a different colour way, as per us, is Xiaomi with its White Air Fryer, which looked minimalistic and modern. The Nuuk Red looks sharp in the press photos, and I’m not sure how well it will go with Indian kitchens.
Why the Air Fryer Market Is Booming
The air fryer has moved from trend to essential status for many homes. It sits at the intersection of wellness, convenience, and design, making it a lucrative category for both established and emerging brands. As more households invest in healthier cooking methods, demand for energy-efficient, compact appliances continues to rise. NUUK's entry reflects how design-focused startups are now using health-led innovation to challenge legacy players.
Alongside the BRĪSK Air Fryer, NUUK has introduced the HÖT BLOX Oil-Filled Radiator priced at ₹13,999 and the HÖT BAR PTC Heater at ₹6,499. Both products focus on quick heating, lower power consumption, and smart controls, extending the company's approach to efficiency and comfort beyond the kitchen.
Buying Considerations
For families of two to four members, the BRĪSK offers a good mix of capacity, safety, and performance. The ceramic coating provides peace of mind for long-term use, while the preloaded cooking modes simplify daily recipes. Philips, Inalsa, Glenn, Faber and Havells remain popular choices in the same price bracket, but NUUK's toxin-free build gives it a clear differentiation for health-conscious buyers.
The BRĪSK Air Fryer represents a thoughtful evolution in NUUK's portfolio. It highlights how design and wellness can coexist in affordable appliances. The product stands out for its material quality, modern styling, and attention to user experience. However, we are unsure of how well accepted the brand will be in the Indian context.
