The Havells Studio Meditate AP 250 marks Havells’ first venture into the air purifier market. With a coverage area of up to 377 sq. ft. and a premium price tag of ₹19,999, it’s clear that Havells is aiming to position this model as a high-end solution for smaller spaces like bedrooms or home offices. Naturally, this pricing sets certain expectations, especially since it’s more expensive than most entry-level options for similar room sizes.
Testing it in the MSP lab, I was particularly interested to see how this purifier’s performance would justify its premium price. Being Havells’ debut in this segment, I was also curious regarding the unique design elements and how it is looking to stand out in a competitive market. With the Studio Meditate AP 250, I expected a blend of efficient purification, user-friendly design, and perhaps a touch of innovation, given Havells’ reputation for quality in other home appliances.
Build Quality and Design
The Havells Studio Meditate AP 250 has a unique, stylish design that immediately stands out from conventional air purifiers. Its cylindrical shape and vertical slats give it a modern, almost decorative appearance, making it blend seamlessly into a variety of interiors. The clean white finish with subtle wood-texture accents at the base adds a touch of elegance, making it feel more like a part of the decor rather than just an appliance. You can tell it’s inspired by a space shuttle, and while it’s a little shiny, it does look pretty cool.
One of the standout features in the design is the top-mounted control panel. Unlike some models, such as the Dyson purifier that places controls lower on the front panel, Havells has thoughtfully positioned all controls on the top of the device. This height makes it convenient to access without bending down, which is a great detail for anyone who prefers to operate the unit directly rather than relying on a companion app.
The top panel offers a range of controls that allow you to manage fan speed, change modes, and check AQI and PM levels easily. There’s also a circular AQI indicator dial that changes colour based on the room’s air quality. This dial is not only functional but also adds a cool visual element to the purifier. No matter where you are in the room, you can glance at the colour of the dial and immediately get an idea of the air quality. This thoughtful integration of aesthetics and functionality showcases Havells’ attention to user experience in their first foray into the air purifier market.

Filters and Air Purification
Filters
The Havells Studio Meditate AP 250 boasts an advanced multi-stage filtration system designed to provide thorough air purification. According to the image provided, the purifier includes the following filtration stages:
- Pre-Filter Mesh: Captures larger particles like dust, pet hair, and lint, helping to protect and extend the life of the subsequent filters.
- H14 HEPA Filter: This high-efficiency particulate air filter traps 99.97% of fine particles as small as 0.3 microns, including allergens, pollen, and other airborne pollutants, making it highly effective against common allergens.
- Anti-Microbial Coating: Adds a layer of protection by neutralising bacteria and microbes that might otherwise circulate through the air.
- Granular Activated Carbon Filter: Absorbs odours, gases, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), ensuring that the air feels fresher and cleaner.
- UV A and UV C Light: These ultraviolet lights are used to kill airborne bacteria and viruses, adding another layer of germicidal action to the purification process.
- TiO₂ Module: The titanium Dioxide module works in conjunction with UV light to further break down harmful particles and neutralise pollutants.
This layered approach to filtration shows that Havells has taken a comprehensive approach in designing the Studio Meditate AP 250, making it suitable for users who need reliable protection from a variety of airborne contaminants.
Air Purification Performance
Corner Test Results:
| Time (minutes) | PM2.5 (ug/m3) | AQI |
| Start | 408 | 100 |
| 10 | 326 | 100 |
| 20 | 228 | 91 |
| 25 | 203 | 81 |
Starting with a PM2.5 level of 408 ug/m3 and an AQI of 100, the Havells Studio Meditate AP 250 began its purification process in the corner of the room. After 10 minutes, the PM2.5 level dropped to 326 ug/m3, with the AQI remaining steady at 100. By the 20-minute mark, the purifier had reduced PM2.5 levels to 228 ug/m3 and the AQI to 91, showing a gradual but steady improvement. At 25 minutes, the PM2.5 level was down to 203 ug/m3, with the AQI reaching 81, indicating ongoing progress in reducing indoor pollution levels.
Centre Test Results:
| Time (minutes) | PM2.5 (ug/m3) | AQI |
| Start | 393 | 100 |
| 10 | 301 | 100 |
| 20 | 188 | 75 |
| 25 | 163 | 65 |
When placed in the centre of the room with a starting PM2.5 of 393 ug/m3 and an AQI of 100, the purifier also showed promising results. After 10 minutes, the PM2.5 level decreased to 301 ug/m3, with AQI holding at 100. At the 20-minute mark, PM2.5 levels were further reduced to 188 ug/m3, with the AQI improving to 75. By 25 minutes, the PM2.5 reached 163 ug/m3, and the AQI dropped to 65, demonstrating the unit’s ability to clean the air over time effectively.
These results indicate that while the Havells Studio Meditate AP 250 is capable of reducing pollutants steadily, it may take a bit longer to reach very low PM2.5 levels in spaces with initially high pollution. Its performance is consistent in both corner and centre placements, making it suitable for small spaces needing continuous air quality improvement.
Ease of Changing Filters
Changing the filters on the Havells Studio Meditate AP 250 is designed to be straightforward and user-friendly, which is a plus for routine maintenance. The unit allows easy access to the filter compartment, so you can replace filters without any specialised tools or complicated steps. The filters simply need to be removed and replaced in the correct orientation, making it a quick and manageable process for any user. Given the multi-stage filtration system, having a simple filter replacement process adds convenience, ensuring the purifier can continue running at optimal performance with minimal hassle.
Noise Levels
The Havells Studio Meditate AP 250 operates at a noise level of 54 dB. This is about as loud as a quiet conversation or background music, noticeable but not overly intrusive. While you may hear it running in the background, it’s not disruptive, especially in a living room or other high-traffic area. The noise level is manageable enough for use during the day, and even in quieter settings, but for extremely noise-sensitive users, it may be more apparent at night. Overall, it strikes a balance between performance and a tolerable noise output for most everyday environments.
Smart Features and IoT Integration
The Havells Studio Meditate AP 250 comes fully equipped with IoT capabilities, making it one of the more advanced air purifiers in its category. It seamlessly connects with Alexa, Google Assistant, and the Havells SYNC app, providing a wide range of control options. With voice command integration, you can adjust settings, check air quality levels, and even turn the purifier on or off without needing to physically interact with the unit. The Havells SYNC app also allows remote control, enabling you to monitor and manage the purifier from anywhere, which is especially convenient for setting it up before returning home.
The smart features not only enhance convenience but also add a layer of customisation to the user experience. Whether you prefer voice commands or app-based control, the IoT integration makes it easy to maintain optimal air quality in your space with minimal effort.
