The 3C listing reveals that Asus_I007D will have 65W charging support.

Asus recently announced the Zenfone 8 and the Zenfone 8 Flip smartphones last month. But, we are aware of the fact that the Taiwanese smartphone maker is currently prepping up for the launch of yet another flagship handset. Recently, a new Asus smartphone with model number ASUS_I007D was spotted on TENAA certification. The TENAA listing had revealed the images of the phone, which had Qualcomm branding at the back. Now, in a recent development, this upcoming smartphone (ASUS_I007D) has gained the required 3C certification in China. The 3C listing reveals the charging capability details of the handset ahead of launch. Let’s check more details on this ahead:

Asus smartphone (ASUS_I007D) Receives 3C Certification

If we have a glimpse at the details revealed by 3C certification, we can see that the Asus smartphone is listed with model number ASUS_I007D. The 3C certifications reveal that this handset will have 65W fast-charging support and 5G connectivity. If we have a recap of the earlier details of this unknown handset, it is reported to be codenamed as VODKA internally. The folks at XDA Developer had spotted the SAKE and PICASSO codenames in the kernel source code of the Asus ROG Phone 5 a few weeks ago. These devices are recently launched as the Zenfone 8 and the Zenfone 8 Mini. The smartphone codenamed as VODKA was spotted in the same source code earlier. There’s a high possibility that Asus might announce this handset in the Zenfone 8 lineup. If not in the Zenfone 8 series, this device might get launched as a Qualcomm-Asus gaming phone.

A report published by DigiTimes last year had revealed that Qualcomm and Asus have joined hands to develop a gaming smartphone. This Qualcomm-Asus handset was rumoured to ship with Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 SoC (announced as Snapdragon 888). According to this earlier report, this gaming phone was set to launch in 2020, and its shipping was expected to happen in 2021. However, as of now, we haven’t heard any details about this handset. So, there’s a good chance that the recently spotted device at 3C certification might launch as the Qualcomm-Asus gaming phone.

As far as the specifications of the ASUS_I007D via TENAA certification goes, the handset is tipped to measure at around 172.92 x 77.33 x 9.55mm, and it might weigh 217.7 grams. The device is supposed to feature a 6.78-inch OLED display. Powering this handset under the hood could be Snapdragon 888 chipset. The device might ship with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. On the software side of things, we can expect this Asus phone to run Android 11 out of the box. In terms of optics, the smartphone might feature a triple-camera setup which might consist of a 64MP primary main sensor and two 12MP cameras. For security purpose, the handset will also have a rear-facing fingerprint sensor. And these were all the details that were revealed by the earlier TENAA certification.

As the days pass, we should get to learn more about this upcoming Asus handset, if it appears on any benchmarking platform or any certification. What are your thoughts about this upcoming Asus handset? Do let us know them in the comments below.
