Chup Storyline
In the teaser of the movie, we see DQ singing Happy Birthday while fashioning a bouquet of flowers out of a newspaper. You can also hear the iconic song “Waqt ne kiya kya haseen sitam”, from the 1959 Guru Dutt classic Kaagaz ke Phool, playing in the background. The story in this movie takes us through the life of a psychopath killer who is targeting film critics.
This is a fast-paced thriller which raises many questions about the rights and wrongs of criticism. Dulquer Salmaan plays a Bandra-based florist, whose shop gets found by a young journalist played by Shreya Dhanwantari. Both are attracted to each other. Meanwhile, Nitin Srivastav, a prominent film critic gets murdered at his residence. Inspector Arvind Mathur is given the case. Subsequent murders of critics take place as the movie proceeds. How all these get solved forms the crux of the movie.
