As the presentation’s name suggests, it is dedicated entirely to independent developers and promises a deep dive into the vibrant world of indie games coming soon to the Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo Indie World Showcase 2024: Top Indie Titles for Switch
Earlier in 2024, Nintendo fans were treated to a packed Direct showcase, featuring exciting reveals like the long-awaited remaster of Epic Mickey, the highly anticipated sequel to Endless Ocean, and the surprising news of two former Xbox exclusives, Grounded and Pentiment, making their way to the Switch platform.

Little Kitty, Big City
Little Kitty, Big City is an upcoming adventure video game developed and published by American Indie developer Double Dagger Studio. The game will allow players to take the role of a curious little kitty who gets lost in a sprawling city. The objective is to find the way back home during which you will get to explore the city. Little Kitty, Big City is scheduled to be released on May 9, 2024, for Nintendo Switch.
Yars Rising
Atari’s beloved Yars’ Revenge gets a modern makeover with Yars Rising! Developed by WayForward, creators of the Shantae series, this upcoming Nintendo Switch title takes the core concept of the 1982 arcade game and transforms it into a captivating Metroidvania adventure. The game will be out later this year.
Refind Self: The Personality Test Game
Refind Self: The Personality Test Game goes beyond exploration – it’s a self-discovery game for you and your Android character. Developed by Lizardry, this game delves into deeper themes as you explore the world in the wake of your creator’s passing. With 23 personalities to uncover and a captivating story to piece together, Refind Self will be released in the Summer of 2024.

Sticky Business
Sticky Business is a charming simulation game developed by Spellgarden Games. This delightful sim lets you design and sell custom stickers, pack orders with care, and connect with customers through their heartwarming stories. The game is now available to play on Switch and a DLC is readily available that unlocks fresh content.
Antonblast
In Antonblast, you become Dynamite Anton, a fiery hero on a mission to reclaim his stolen spirit collection from the devil himself. There’s explosive action inspired by classic titles like Wario Land and Sonic CD. Antonblast, the side-scrolling explosion-fest, is set to detonate on PC and Nintendo Switch this November 12th. A playable demo is available now.
Valley Peaks
Valley Peaks, a charming first-person climber where each mountain is a puzzle to solve, is hopping over to Nintendo Switch alongside its original PC release. The game lets you solve mountain puzzles, place radio towers, and embark on friendly side quests during your climb.

Lorelei and the Laser Eyes
An action-adventure puzzle from Simogo, Lorelei and the Laser Eyes, puts players in the shoes of a woman embroiled in a surreal mystery set in Europe. Published by Annapurna Interactive, this non-linear game throws over 100 handcrafted puzzles your way, with shifting mechanics and perspectives keeping you on your toes. The game is set to arrive on May 16 on Switch.
Europa
Helder Pinto’s Europa, a 3D action platformer originally planned for 2023, has seen its release window pushed back to sometime later in 2024. A demo showcasing Zee’s jetpack-fueled exploration of a mysterious alien moon filled with ancient ruins and puzzles is now available on the Nintendo eShop. This calming, watercolour adventure evokes classic JRPGs like Dragon Quest and Zelda, offering a chance to explore a vast fantasy world and uncover the fate of a lost civilization.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate, a co-op action game with roguelike elements, arrives in July as a timed console exclusive. Originally released on Apple Arcade, the game throws the Turtles into a battle against Shredder and the Foot Clan to rescue Master Splinter. With unique skills for each hero and familiar foes like Bebop and Rocksteady to battle, Splintered Fate promises hours of action-packed, pizza-fueled fun for up to four players.

Cat Quest 3
Cat Quest 3 has a release date, thanks to the latest Nintendo Indie World presentation. This sequel to the ‘pawsome’ 2017 and 2019 titles throws you into a vibrant 2.5D open world. For the first time in the series, take command of your ship and wage epic battles. A demo is available now on the eShop. Cat Quest 3 sets its paws on Nintendo Switch on August 8th (International Cat Day!)
Stitch
Developed by Lykke Studios, Stitch features a unique “realistic embroidery engine” designed to capture the feel of working with real thread. Solve puzzles to create beautiful patterns, with difficulty options including helpful hints, daily challenges, and special event-themed hoops. Stitch is available starting today on Switch.

SteamWorld Heist 2
This sequel to the beloved 3DS title SteamWorld Heist throws you into a tropical adventure filled with turn-based, ricochet-fueled strategy battles. Lead your ragtag crew of Steambots through intense gunfights, explore a vast world map, customize your characters, and engage in thrilling real-time naval combat against enemy ships. SteamWorld Heist 2 will be out on August 8.
