The Lava O2 is powered by a UniSoC T616 processor and competes against the likes of the Moto G04, Redmi A3, and Infinix Smart 8. The Lava O2 and the Moto G04 feature a centred punch-hole notch display. Whereas, the Redmi’s offering sports a waterdrop notch panel. All three devices feature polycarbonate rear panels with a variety of colour options to choose from.

The Lava O2 offers a 6.5-inch IPS LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. The Moto G04 also gets a 90Hz IPS LCD screen, which measures 6.6 inches. The Redmi A3 has a bigger 6.71-inch display which refreshes at 90Hz.
The Moto G04 and Lava O2 offer centred punch hole notch display. Whereas, the Redmi A3 has a waterdrop notch. However, Redmi’s offering is the only offering with Corning Gorilla Glass protection.

The Lava O2 is powered by a UniSoC T616 processor, which comes with an integrated Mali G57 GPU. Powering the Moto G04 is a UniSoC T606 coupled with a Mali G57 GPU. Whereas, Redmi A3 sports a MediaTek Helio G36 with an IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU.
Lava O2 and Moto G04 feature UFS 2.2 storage and make use of LPDDR4X RAM. Whereas, Redmi hasn’t specified the memory and storage type being used on its offering.

The Lava O2 comes pre-loaded with near-stock Android, but it is based on Android 13. The Moto G04 and Redmi A3 ship with the latest version of Android, that is Android 14. In terms of software, the Moto G04 and Redmi A3 have an advantage over the Lava O2 as Lava’s offering doesn’t have the latest Android version.

The Lava O2 offers a dual-rear camera setup, including a 50MP primary shooter. Moto’s offering is equipped with a single-rear camera which has a 16MP resolution. The Redmi A3 offers a dual-rear camera setup that includes an 8MP snapper.
For selfies, the Lava O2 relies on an 8MP camera. Whereas, the Moto G04 and Redmi A3 feature a 5MP front snapper. Lava O2, based on the megapixel count might seem like the winner. However, readers must note that the real-life camera output matters on several other factors as well.

All three smartphones are equipped with a 5,000mAh battery and charge via a USB Type-C port. The Lava O2 with 18W fast charging gets an advantage over its competitors as the charging speed on the remaining two devices is capped at just 10W.
Lava O2 with the 18W fast charging is the clear winner compared to the Moto’s and Redmi’s offerings.

The Lava O2 is Rs 500 costlier compared to the Moto G04 if we compare the 8GB+128GB variant of the device. The Lava O2 features UniSoC T616 and supports 18W fast charging, so spending a little extra for it might be worth it. However, Lava ships the device with Android 13, which is a disappointment even though the company has promised an Android 14 update.
Based on on-paper specifications, the Redmi A3 seems to be lacking behind the competition and is the costliest of the trio.
