MediaTek recently announced the development of its first-ever 3nm processor in partnership with TSMC. The company has now launched the Dimensity 7200 Ultra processor, as a successor to its Dimensity 7200 which was launched earlier this year. The new MediaTek chip will be featured on the upcoming Redmi Note 13 Series in China.
The Dimensity 7200 Ultra chipset comes with an octa-core configuration. It also features a dedicated MediaTek APU for AI processing and has support for 5G connectivity.
MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra Announced
MediaTek has unveiled the Dimensity 7200 Ultra processor in China. The company quietly announced this processor to media publications through press releases.
The new MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra is an octa-core processor designed on a 4nm architecture. It comes with 2 x Cortex A715 cores, along with 6 x Cortex 510 cores. It is paired with the ARM Mali-G610 GPU.
The Dimensity 7200 Ultra supports both LPDDR4x and LPDDR5 RAM with a maximum frequency of 6400MHz.
The Dimensity 7200 Ultra is compatible with cameras up to 200MP and offers 4K 30fps video recording. It can also drive Full HD+ displays at a 144Hz refresh rate.
It also comes with the 5th-generation MediaTek APU 650 for AI processing. Moreover, the Dimensity 7200 Ultra also features an Imagiq 765 ISP with support for 14-bit HDR image processing.
The MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra is also 5G compatible, along with support for dual 5G standby, VoNR, and carrier aggregation.
MediaTek says that more details about the processor will be shared in upcoming days. As of now, the chipset has not been listed on MediaTek’s website. It is possible that MediaTek may directly launch the details of this chipset in the Redmi Note 13 Series launch event, given the crucial partnership between MediaTek and Xiaomi.

MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra Will Debut with Redmi Note 13 Series
The upcoming Redmi Note 13 Series will be the first set of phones to feature the new Dimensity 7200 Ultra processor. The devices were recently spotted on TENAA and other certification websites which gave us a glimpse at the specifications of the phones.

The Redmi Note 13 Series is expected to feature 4 models. The top model is expected to feature a 200MP camera, along with a 1.5K resolution display. The device may also get a 5000mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging.
The second model in the Redmi Note 13 Series is more likely to feature the new Dimensity 7200 Ultra processor. This device may come with a 5120mAh battery and 67W fast charging as per a 3C listing.
The General Manager of Xiaomi China, Wang Teng, confirmed in a Weibo post that the Redmi Note 13 Series will launch in China this month. The latest teaser shared by Redmi also reveals that the upcoming Redmi Note 13 Series will feature a Dimensity 7200 Ultra processor and Samsung ISOCELL camera sensors.
