Moto Edge 40 Pro 5G with e-SIM, 125W Adapter and Wireless Charging Support Gets FCC Certification Ahead of Launch

Motorola appears to be gearing up to launch the next iteration of its flagship smartphone – the Moto Edge 40 Pro. The upcoming Edge 40 Pro with the model number XT2301-4 was spotted on the TDRA certification website just last week. Now, we have spotted the upcoming Moto Edge 40 Pro on the FCC certification website. The FCC certification listing reveals the battery and charging details of the upcoming Moto Edge 40 Pro.

Going by the FCC certification database listing, the Motorola Edge 40 Pro will feature a battery with model number PF46. It will support 125W fast charging support. The smartphone seems to support wireless charging as well as reverse wireless charging. Let us take a closer look at the details.

The upcoming Moto Edge 40 Pro made an appearance on the FCC certification database with the model number XT2301-4. The listing reveals that the device will feature a battery with model number PF46. FCC listing also reveals that a variant of Moto Edge 40 Pro will feature dual-SIM support. One of these will be an e-sim, while the other one will be a physical sim. There is also a single sim variant of the device which supports only one physical sim.

FCC documents further reveal that the Edge 40 Pro charging adapter has model numbers MC-1251, MC-1252, MC-1253, MC-1254, MC-1255, MC-1256, MC-1257, or MC-1259. These are different adapters for different regions. Upon digging further, we could verify that these are 125W charging adapters, thanks to the Demko listing. The charger of the upcoming Moto Edge 40 Pro will support outputs at 15W (5V/3A), 27W (9V/3A), 45W (15V/3A), and 125W (20V/6.25W).

Also, it appears that the upcoming Motorola Edge 40 Pro will feature wireless charging as well as reverse wireless charging support. As per the documents, Huawei wireless charger CP61 was used for testing wireless charging.

The Moto Edge 40 Pro is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. The Chinese counterpart of the device was recently spotted on TENAA certification which revealed the presence of a curved OLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate and a centered punch-hole notch.
