OnePlus recently confirmed the launch event for its upcoming OnePlus Ace 2 series smartphone. The company confirmed the launch of the forthcoming OnePlus Ace 2 Pro smartphone will take place on August 16 in China. To recall, OnePlus launched the vanilla Ace 2 model in the global markets under the OnePlus 11R moniker. The company hasn’t shared any details of the global launch of the upcoming smartphone.
OnePlus has been revealing the specifications of the forthcoming smartphone through various teasers. The BBK group-owned brand recently confirmed the display and battery specifications of the upcoming device. Previously, OnePlus confirmed that the smartphone will have up to 24GB of RAM. A new teaser shared by OnePlus confirms the presence of the latest Wi-Fi and mobile network bands and more. The teaser also confirms the primary camera details of the forthcoming smartphone.
OnePlus Ace 2 Pro Confirmed Specifications
OnePlus confirms that the smartphone will be equipped with a primary 50MP Sony IMX 890 sensor with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS). The forthcoming device will also inherit OPPO’s flagship image algorithm. OnePlus will equip the smartphone with ProXDR tech, which offers higher dynamic contrast and makes photos more vivid in highly exposed environments. The teaser shared by OnePlus on its Weibo page confirms that the Ace 2 Pro smartphone will be equipped with the latest Wi-Fi 7 protocol.
OnePlus 11 was the first smartphone to be equipped with support for unreleased Wi-Fi 7 protocol. During the launch event, the company confirmed that OnePlus will enable Wi-Fi 7 protocol with a future update. The teaser confirms that the device will offer much better Wi-Fi speeds. The forthcoming protocol features better stability, and less latency and provides four times better performance in comparison to Wi-Fi 6E. OnePlus will also equip the Ace 2 Pro smartphone with n28 and n8 5G modem, which offers much better signal reception.
The forthcoming device will be equipped with stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and spatial audio support. The company also confirmed the presence of Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, dual-frequency GPS, and IR Blaster. The smartphone will be equipped with a flagship bionic motor which offers 139% improvements compared to the standard motors. OnePlus claims that the Ace 2 Pro smartphone will be the first mass-produced smartphone to be equipped with 24GB of RAM. Under the hood, the device will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The chipset will be paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.
OnePlus Ace 2 Pro will be equipped with a repositioned fingerprint scanner to improve the user experience. The company will equip the device with an ultra-thin optical fingerprint scanner 2cm above the standard positioning. Previously, OnePlus confirmed to equip the device with a 6.74-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. OnePlus will equip the display with Rainwater touch control technology to respond to touch inputs in wet conditions. The smartphone will be backed by a 5000 mAh battery with support for 150W SUPERVOOC fast charging tech.
