Sony has kicked off the month of February with tons of announcements for PlayStation fans. Its State of Play January 2024 event revealed details about games coming in 2024 and beyond. Now, it has also shared PlayStation Plus free monthly games for February 2024. These include Foamstars as a day 1 release along with Rollerdrome and Steelrising. And yes, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is getting a 2-hour free trial this month too. Here is everything you need to know.
PlayStation Plus February 2024 Free Games
Sony has revealed all of PlayStation Plus’ new free games will be playable from February 6. You will need to be subscribed to PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra, or Deluxe/Premium to be able to redeem these games.
The deadline to claim these games is March 4. It is advised that you add these free games to your library as soon as possible so that you do not miss them.
Foamstars (PS4 and PS5)
Foamstars is an upcoming 4v4 online party shooter game from Square Enix. Your goal is to defeat the enemy squad by building terrain, creating slippery surfaces to surf around, and creating vantage points to take out enemies. You will need to defend against incoming attacks.
The game has multiple characters and game modes to choose from. Foamstars will land on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on February 6. It is a day 1 release for PlayStation Plus subscribers.
Rollerdrome (PS4 and PS5)
Rollerdrome is a unique game from Roll7 (OlliOlli World developer) that combines a third-person shooting experience with roller skating. You get to play as Kara Hassan, a skater, who enters a battle arena to fight against other shooter-skaters to become the Rollerdrome Champion. It can be played on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles.
Steelrising (PS5)
Steelrising is the only PS5 exclusive free game for February 2024. It is an action RPG title set in an alternate history of the French Revolution in Paris. There is a rogue robotic army taking over and your goal is to prevent that. You get to play as Aegis, a “mysterious automaton masterpiece”, in your quest to stop the army of robots.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Free Trial: How to Claim?
Sony wrapped up the announcement with a pleasant surprise. One of the must-play PlayStation 5 titles Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is getting a free trial. It will be a 2-hour long trial available only to PlayStation Plus Deluxe/Premium subscribers. We found the game to be friendly, chaotic, and fulfilling in our review.
The Spider-Man 2 free trial will be available from February 6. All your game progress and unlocked trophies will carry over if you choose to purchase the full game. Once the trial becomes active, all you need to do is download the game from the PlayStation Store if you are a PS Plus Deluxe/Premium subscriber.
