Realme 12 Pro+ Tipped to Feature Periscope Lens Similar to OPPO Find X6

Realme recently started teasing the launch of its upcoming flagship smartphone with a periscope lens. The teasers hinted that Realme will soon debut the Realme GT 5 Pro smartphone with a periscope lens. Digital Chat Station, a well-known tipster, tipped that Realme is also working on a mid-range smartphone with a periscope lens. The tipster has shared more details regarding the launch of the upcoming mid-range device, which will debut under the Realme 12 Pro+ moniker.

The upcoming Realme GT 5 Pro smartphone will be a successor to the Realme GT 5 smartphone launched in China. The vanilla Realme GT 5 smartphone will be the first mass-produced device to equip 240W fast charging worldwide. Realme is tipped to debut the device around the end of Q4 of 2023. Realme launched the Realme 10 Pro and 10 Pro+ series smartphones in China in November 2022.

There are chances for the upcoming 23163 series to debut around the same month in China. Digital Chat Station confirms that Realme will equip the Realme 12 Pro+ smartphone with a camera module similar to the OPPO Find X6 smartphone that debuted in March 2023. Realme will equip the upcoming mid-range device with a triple camera module, which includes a periscope lens.

The tipster adds that the device will pack an eye-catching design and specifications to attract the masses. Digital Chat Station didn’t explicitly reveal the name of the upcoming mid-range Realme smartphone. The information was extracted using hints, namely the cat’s logo, which hints towards a Realme device and a digital tag implying that the device is a number series smartphone.

To recall, the vanilla OPPO Find X6 debuted in March 2023 equips a 6.74-inch AMOLED display with 1240 x 2772 pixels resolution. The display has a refresh rate of 120Hz, a peak brightness of 1450 nits, HDR10+ certification and 1B colours. Under the hood, OPPO Find X6 features a MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC, built on a 4nm process.

The chipset has one Cortex-X3 at 3.05GHz, three Cortex-A715 cores at 2.85GHz, four Cortex-A510 cores at 1.8GHz and Immortalis-G715 MC11 GPU. The chipset pairs with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The smartphone runs on Funtouch OS 13 based on Android 13 out of the box. OPPO equips the device with a large circular camera island with triple camera sensors.

The device features a 50MP Sony IMX 890 primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, OIS and PDAF. The primary sensor is paired with a secondary 50MP periscope lens with OIS, 2.8x optical zoom and f/2.6 aperture. OPPO equips the primary and periscope lens with a sensor size of 1/1.56 inch. The sensors are paired with a tertiary 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens f/2.0 aperture and PDAF.

OPPO Find X6 features a 32MP selfie camera with f/2.4 aperture, placed inside the display’s centred punch-hole. The smartphone is backed by a 4800mAh battery, which supports 80W wired fast charging tech. The device is available in Black, Green and Gold colour options. OPPO equips the device with IP54 splash resistance to protect it from accidental raindrops.
