Samsung is all set to launch its first-ever 5G-enabled Galaxy-M series smartphone, the Galaxy M42 5G in India on April 28th. This particular handset is in the news since the last few weeks, thanks to several certifications and benchmark listing. Earlier, the device was speculated to launch as the rebranded Galaxy A42 5G. Now, it is officially confirmed that the Galaxy M42 5G indeed will be the rebrand of the Galaxy A42 5G, thanks to the Google Play supported device list. The Google Play Console listing reveals that both the Galaxy M42 5G and the Galaxy A42 5G have the same device code “a42xq”.

The Google Play Console listing showcases us the specifications of the Galaxy A42 5G that has the device code as “a42xq”. The Galaxy M42 5G even bears the same “a42xq” device code. This leads us to the fact that the Galaxy M42 5G will be a rebrand of the A42 5G. According to the Google Play Console listing, the A42 5G comes with 6GB of RAM and packs Snapdragon 750G processor. These hardware specifications does match with the one that was revealed by Geekebench earlier. The Galaxy M42 5G was spotted at Geekbench a few days ago. In the Geekbench results, the device had managed to pull off 650 and 1779 points in the single-core and multi-core test respectively.

Moving onto the details revealed by the Google Play listing, the A42 5G features an HD+ (720×1339) resolution. This does mean that the M42 5G will sport an HD+ display. The Galaxy M42 5G will run Android 11 out of the box. In terms of optics, the A42 5G features a quad-camera setup. The device incorporates a 48-megapixel primary main camera. It packs a 5000mAh battery that supports 15W fast-charging.

As far as the price of the Galaxy M42 5G in India go, it is expected to be priced at under Rs 25,000. The company has already teased the handset on Amazon. The product page does confirm that the Galaxy M42 5G will pack Snapdragon 750G chipset. It even reveals that the device will sport a quad-camera setup. The official launch of the device is set to happen on April 28th at 12:00 PM, i.e tomorrow. We should get to learn the official pricing, specifications, and availability details once the devices launches in India tomorrow.
