Vivo has been teasing the launch of the upcoming Vivo S18 series smartphones in China through various teasers shared on Weibo. The BBK group-owned giant recently revealed the design of the smartphones through multiple teasers. The forthcoming S18 series smartphones will include the vanilla S18, S18e, and S18 Pro series smartphones. The S18 series smartphones are the successor to the Vivo S17 series smartphones launched in China.

Vivo launched the Vivo S17 series smartphones under the Vivo V29 monikers in the global markets, including India. The upcoming S18 series smartphones are also tipped to debut under the Vivo V30 series monikers in the international markets. Vivo has announced the launch date of the upcoming smartphones through a new post on Weibo.

When is Vivo S18 Series Launching and its Expected Specifications

Vivo has revealed that the S18 series smartphones will debut on December 14 in China. The event will kick in at 2 PM (UTC + 8) and will be live-streamed through the social handles of Vivo in China. The pre-bookings of the smartphone are already live through the major online retailers, including Tmall, JD.com, and more. Vivo has also confirmed that it will debut the Vivo TWS 3e at the event.

The listing of the device at JD.com reveals the battery and chipset details of the S18 series smartphones. The upcoming Vivo S18 Pro will sport MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chipset, built on a 4nm process. The chipset features a Cortex-X3 core at 3.35GHz, three Cortex-A715 cores at 3.0GHz, four Cortex-A510 cores at 2.0GHz, and a Mali-G715 Immortalis MP11 GPU.

The smartphone will be backed by a large 5000mAh battery with 80W wired fast charging tech. The listing also confirms that Vivo will equip the smartphone with the same primary lens that debuted with Vivo X100 series smartphones. Vivo’s China President also confirmed the chipset details through a post on Weibo. The post shared by him reveals that the smartphone has scored over 1.6 million points in the AnTuTu V10 benchmark.

Vivo’s China President also confirms that the device will feature the same 50MP Sony IMX 920 sensor. The sensor will be paired with a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a telephoto lens debuted with the Vivo X90S smartphone. Vivo will equip the Vivo S18 Pro smartphone with a 50MP selfie camera with dual soft light. The upcoming smartphones are confirmed to debut with the lightest devices with 5000mAh battery.

The post also reveals that the vanilla S18 smartphone will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC, which scored over a million points in the AnTuTu V10 benchmark. The GeekBench listing spotted by MySmartPrice revealed that the device scored 1221 points in single-core and 3468 points in multi-core tests. The chipset will be paired with up to 16GB RAM, which can expanded by a further 16GB through virtual RAM technology. The upcoming smartphones will run on Origin OS 4 based on Android 14 out of the box.
