Vivo X80 Pro and iQOO 9 Pro Android 13 Update Rolling Out in India for Select Users

Google, last week, released the stable version of Android 13 for the Pixel devices. Following the Android 13 stable release, several companies have started rolling out Android 13 based updates for their flagship devices. In the latest development, Vivo has started rolling out FunTouchOS 13 update for its latest generation flagship – Vivo X80 Pro in India. The FunTouchOS 13 is the latest iteration of the FunTouchOS and is based on Android 13.

Alongside, iQOO has also announced Android 13 based FunTouchOS 13 update for the iQOO 9 Pro users in India. However, readers should note that Vivo X80 Pro and iQOO 9 Pro are not receiving Android 13 stable updates instead the companies are rolling out the updates as part of the preview program. Vivo and iQOO took it to social media channels to make a formal announcement for the same.

Vivo X80 Pro and iQOO 9 Pro Android 13 Update Details

In order to receive Android 13 update on the Vivo X80 Pro and iQOO 9 Pro, users need to apply for the Android 13 Preview program. Following this they can head over to Settings -> System Updates to update their devices to the latest version of Android.

Vivo X80 Pro users running firmware version 12.0.12.7 are eligible to apply for the Android 13 Preview program. Whereas, those using iQOO 9 Pro should have their devices updated to firmware version 12.0.5.8 in order to apply for the iQOO 9 Pro Android 13 Preview program.

Vivo and iQOO say that the enrollment for Android 13 Preview program is a first come first serve basis and the companies plan to roll out Android 13 Preview build only for 500 Vivo X80 Pro users and 500 iQOO 9 Pro users in the country.

Vivo and iQOO have also warned users that following the installation of the Android Preview build, users might encounter slower performance. Both the companies haven’t revealed anything regarding the Android 13 Stable update rollout plans for these devices.
