We all know that MediaTek is working on its next flagship chipset, the Diemensity 9400, which is expected to make its way to the public in 2025. It will succeed the current gen Dimensity 9300. While the collaboration between Vivo and MediaTek on the Dimensity 9300 was already making waves in artificial intelligence (AI), recent insights reveal that Vivo’s influence extends to the upcoming Dimensity 9400.

A report by CNMO sheds light on the depth of Vivo’s involvement, positioning the company as a consumer and a key contributor to the technological evolution of MediaTek’s chips. Industry insiders underline Vivo’s pivotal role, emphasising that the collaboration enables Vivo to maintain a competitive edge by seamlessly integrating cutting-edge flagship chips into its product lineup.

MediaTek Dimensity 9300 SoC Features

The Dimensity 9300 features what the company refers to as a unique All Big Core design. It is an octa-core processor built on TSMC’s third-generation 4nm process. The processor comprises four Arm Cortex X4 cores and four Cortex-A720 cores. Regarding clock speeds, the four Arm Cortex-X4 cores can reach a maximum clock speed of 3.25GHz, along with four Cortex-A720 cores operating at a clock speed of up to 2.0GHz.

In contrast, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC is equipped with a primary CPU core boasting a maximum clock speed of 3.19GHz. Additionally, it features five cores with a clock speed of 2.96GHz, along with two cores limited to 2.27GHz.
