According to the publication, the main chat list will get a new section at the bottom. This section will display contacts in the user’s phonebook that they have never interacted with on the platform.

The section prompts users to chat with these new contacts with whom they might have never interacted. According to the publication, the feature will also show up for new users to generate new conversations.

As mentioned, the feature is currently available only in WhatsApp beta for Android users. However, we can expect it to roll out to iOS and general users gradually in future updates.

WhatsApp has recently introduced PiP mode for videos shared directly on the platform and is also working on extending the chat lock feature to linked devices. Additionally, users will soon be able to mention contacts privately in status updates.
