  • Alleged handset has the model number 24053PY09I.
  • This could be a rebranded Xiaomi CIVI 4, which is rumoured to launch in China soon.

A new Xiaomi smartphone has made an appearance on the Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS) certification website. This could be the Xiaomi 14i or the Xiaomi 14 Lite for the Indian market. Have a look at the details.

Is Xiaomi Bringing the ‘Lite’ Phones Back in India?

The phone has been spotted with model number 24053PY09I. It is said that the phone could be a rebranded version of the CIVI 4, which was recently spotted on China’s MIIT certification with the model number 24053PY09C.

This is because Xiaomi usually keeps the CIVI series exclusive to China and brings the devices under the Lite moniker globally, so there are speculations of it coming as Xiaomi 14 Lite in India. However, our source says that it might land as Xiaomi 14i in India.

Alleged Xiaomi 14 Lite (24053PY09I)

The Xiaomi CIVI 2 was launched as Xiaomi 13 Lite last year globally (although, it didn’t arrive in India). Based on this, there are speculations that the CIVI 4 might land as the Xiaomi 14 Lite. However, readers must note that Xiaomi CIVI 4 is said to launch only in Indian market and not in global markets (outside China), so the theory suggesting the moniker Xiaomi 14 Lite seem wrong.

The handset, if launches as Xiaomi 14i in India, will mark the comeback of the Xiaomi i series in the Indian market. The company launched the Mi 11i and the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge back in 2021. Since then, the company hasn’t launched any other device in the lineup.

For those unaware, Xiaomi CIVI smartphones are targeted at female consumers in China and fall in the lifestyle segment devices. The Xiaomi CIVI 4 is rumoured to sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, which is expected to be announced on March 18 in China.

The upcoming CIVI series handset is tipped to sport a 5,000mAh battery unit with 90W fast charging support. As per rumours, the Xiaomi CIVI 4 will offer an OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The handset might feature a Leica-tuned camera setup.

Xiaomi is yet to confirm the details about the Xiaomi CIVI 4. We can expect the company to drop teasers in the coming weeks. To recall, the company recently unveiled its Xiaomi 14 series, including, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra in India.
