The Huawei GT 2 Pro smartwatch is set to launch in India next week. According to official confirmation from a company spokesperson, the latest wearable from Huawei is set to be introduced in India in the coming days, but does not detail what operating system might it run on. The launch comes at a time when Samsung has introduced the Galaxy Watch 4 with the revamped Wear OS 3 operating system onboard.
Expected key specifications
The Huawei GT 2 Pro smartwatch is tipped to feature an AMOLED display panel, with a scratch resistant sapphire glass on top. The watch body is expected to be made of titanium, while the rear of the watch will be made of ceramic to offer smooth and irritation free skin contact for long hours of usage.
The custom tuned software onboard, Wear OS or otherwise, will offer over 200 watch faces – according to Huawei. It also supports quick wireless charging, where just five minutes of charging with a compatible charger will reportedly deliver up to 10 hours of usage time. The watch will also support reverse wireless charging from compatible smartphones as well. The more impressive claim, however, is two weeks of usage time on a single charge, even with normal usage and all health tracking features turned on.
The Huawei GT 2 Pro will also come with over 100 workout modes and up to 5ATM water resistance, to support swimming and water-body activities and training as well. It will also have a new ‘Golf Driving Range’ mode, to offer analysis of golf swing postures and related data – to help users improve their sport. Other features include VO2max data, handsfree calling, smart assistant control, remote camera and music playback control, and a Find My phone feature as well.
Prices and sell dates are expected to be unveiled soon as well, at the official launch of the watch next week.
