Huawei Launches Watch GT Active, Watch GT Elegant, FreeBuds Lite, FreeLace Wireless Earphones, and Smart Glasses


Huawei has announced five new wearable devices alongside the P30 smartphones at the yesterday’s event – the Watch GT Active, Watch GT Elegant, FreeBuds Lite, FreeLace wireless earphones, and smart glasses that don’t have a name yet. Let us have a look at their pricing, availability, and specifications.

Huawei Watch GT Active, Watch GT Elegant, FreeBuds Lite, FreeLace: Pricing and Availability

The Watch GT Active costs EUR 249, while the Watch GT Elegant costs EUR 229. As for the audio products, the FreeBuds Lite costs EUR 119, and the FreeLace wireless earphones cost EUR 99. The brand hasn’t announced the pricing details for the smart glasses yet. Huawei has revealed that the FreeLace wireless earphones will go on sale starting from 11th April and the smart glasses will be available sometime in July this year, but they haven’t revealed the availability details for the FreeBuds Lite, Watch GT Active, and Watch GT Elegant.

Huawei Watch GT Active and Watch GT Elegant Specifications

The Watch GT Active has a 46mm watch face that houses a 1.39-inch AMOLED display with 454 x 454 pixels resolution, whereas, the Watch GT Elegant has a 42mm watch face that houses a 1.2-inch AMOLED display with 390 x 390 pixels resolution. Huawei hasn’t revealed the processor model, RAM capacity, storage capacity, and the battery capacity of neither the Watch GT Active nor the Watch GT Elegant.

Huawei says that the Watch GT Active can last two weeks, and the Watch GT Elegant can last one week on a single charge with typical use. According to Huawei, this typical use includes wearing the smartwatch all day, notifications popping up on the smartwatch whenever you get them on your smartphone, sleep function working at night, and using the smartwatch for 90 minutes of exercise tracking per week.

In terms of connectivity, the Huawei Watch GT Active and the Watch GT Elegant have Bluetooth and GPS. Sensors on these two smartwatches include a gyroscope sensor, accelerometer, magnetometer, barometer, ambient light sensor, and an optical heart rate sensor.

Huawei FreeBuds Lite Specifications

The FreeBuds Lite, as the name suggests, are truly-wireless earbuds. They have IPX4 water and dust resistance. The FreeBuds can last three hours on a single charge, and the battery case can hold three additional charges for a total of 12 hours of battery backup. Huawei hasn’t revealed any additional information apart from this.

Huawei FreeLace Wireless Earphones Specifications


The FreeLace wireless earphones have a design that we have never seen before. The left earbud and the right earbud join through a USB Type-C connection (the right earbud has a male connector, and the left earbud has a female connector). To charge the FreeLace, you can connect the right earbud to any USB Type-C port including the one in your smartphone. Connecting the FreeLace to your smartphone via USB Type-C will also set up the wireless connection between the FreeLace and your smartphone. Speaking of connection, the FreeLace has Bluetooth v5.0. According to Huawei, the FreeLace wireless earphones can offer either 18 hours of music playback or 13 hours of talk time on a single charge.

Smart Glasses Specifications

As mentioned earlier, the smart glasses that Huawei has announced doesn’t have a name yet. These smart glasses have been developed in collaboration with the Korean brand, Gentle Monster. Huawei has showcased that the smart glasses have dual-microphones and a speaker, which will allow users to take calls on it. The inclusion of the speaker and microphone will also allow users to interact with smart assistants in their smartphones. These smart glasses have IP67 water and dust resistance, USB Type-C port, and they pack a 2200mAh battery.
