Lenovo S5 Pro: Sample Photo Shared Online by Company VP

The sample photo shared by Chang Cheng on Weibo is a low-resolution one, so it is impossible for us to judge the quality of the cameras on the S5 Pro based on it. That said, the watermarks in the image reveal the shot was taken using Super 2X Optical Zoom mode. It also confirms the smartphone will come with a number of AI features baked into the camera app. Unfortunately, nothing else is known about the four cameras on the back of the Lenovo S5 Pro at this moment. We do, however, expect Cheng to reveal more information about the S5 Pro in the coming days.

Lenovo S5 Pro: Rumoured Specifications, Features

Going by the smartphone’s marketing name, it is quite clear that the S5 Pro will be an upgraded variant of the Lenovo S5 that the manufactured released in March this year. Since the Lenovo S5 Pro is expected to be positioned below the Lenovo Z5, we expect it to come with only a few major upgrades aside from the quad-camera setup at the rear. The Lenovo S5 comes with a 5.7-inch IPS LCD display featuring 1080 x 2160 Full HD+ resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. It runs on an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, coupled with up to 4GB of RAM. In the camera department, Lenovo S5 has a 13MP + 13MP dual-camera setup on the back with the primary sensor coupled with an f/2.2 aperture. On the front of the handset is a 16MP snapper with an f/2.2 aperture and support for Full HD video capture. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, FM radio, USB Type-C port, and 4G VoLTE. The smartphone is fueled by a 3000mAh non-removable battery and sports a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor as well.

We expect the Lenovo S5 Pro to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 or Snapdragon 630 processor. Alternatively, Lenovo may choose to go with a MediaTek chipset such as the Helio P60 to power the S5 Pro. In the memory department, there is a chance that the S5 Pro might be available with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. A larger battery is expected as well. However, you should keep in mind that none of this has actually been confirmed yet.
