Xiaomi’s Redmi separated as an independent entity last year in China. As a result, the company decided to have a presence in all possible segments and forayed into the flagship killer segment with the Redmi K20 Pro last year. Back in April, the company released the Redmi K30 Pro, the successor to the K20 Pro. Since then Redmi has released quite a few interesting products under the K30 line-up, be it Redmi K30 Ultra, or the recently launched Redmi K30S Extreme Commemorative Edition. However, as we are approaching 2021, the rumors and leaks about the upcoming Redmi K40 series have started popping up. A fresh rumor from Digital Chat Station reveals that Redmi K40 Pro will feature a high refresh rate display and a faster charging.

Redmi K40 Pro to come with a Higher Refresh Rate Display and Faster Charging!

Redmi K30 Pro (also called POCO F2 Pro in some markets) is quite a balanced phone, and a stellar deal for its price. However, Redmi, for some reason, decided not to include a higher refresh rate panel on it. This has been one of the biggest con for prospective buyers, as most of the phones in this segment offer a higher refresh rate display panel. Though the brand recently released Redmi K30S Extreme Commemorative Edition with a 144Hz refresh rate. It doesn’t have the same design language as the Redmi K30 Pro.

The company retained the pop-up front camera to achieve a clean bezel-less display on the K30 Pro from its predecessor. Redmi K30 Pro is amongst the few phones to offer a pop-up camera launched this year. We can expect the company to continue offering a pop-up camera with a full bezel-less display on Redmi K40 Pro as well. But this time, Redmi might include a higher refresh rate panel on the K40 Pro as suggested by Digital Chat Station.

It is also rumored that the upcoming Redmi K40 Pro will offer a faster charging solution. As of now, Xiaomi offers 120W fast charging on the Mi 10 Ultra and a 50W charging on the Mi 10 Pro. To recall, Redmi offers 33W fast charging on the K30 Pro and K30S Extreme Commemorative Edition, so we can expect Redmi to go with even faster-charging tech on the K40 Pro. OnePlus recently unveiled the OnePlus 8T with 65W fast charging while there are OEMs such as Realme that are offering 65W fast charging in sub Rs. 20,000 (250-300$) segment.
