Reliance Jio is expanding its 5G services in India. The leading telecom player has launched 5G services in 20 more cities today (Tuesday) and with this launch, the telco offers True 5G services in 277 cities in the country. Notably, the company offers 5G services with 4G SIM and plans, which means customers are using the newly launched network at 4G rates. However, to use, Jio’s True 5G services, customers should have a 5 G-enabled device.
The company has now added True 5G services in Bongaigaon Satna (Madhya Pradesh), Chandrapur, Ichalkaranji (Maharashtra), North Lakhimpur, Sivasagar, Tinsukia (Assam), Bhagalpur, Katihar (Bihar), Mormugao (Goa), Diu (Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu), Gandhidham (Gujarat), Bokaro Steel City, Deoghar, Hazaribag (Jharkhand), Raichur (Karnataka), Thoubal (Manipur), and Faizabad, Firozabad, Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh). The company said that users in all these cities will get speed up to 1 gbps+ without any extra cost under the company’s welcome offer. In addition, the company said that the 5G services are available for prepaid users with a plan of Rs 239 or above. Plus, there is a data pack of Rs 61, which offers 6GB of data until the existing pack lasts. Meanwhile, the company said that 5G services are expected to increase the country’s “tourism and commerce.”
