Samsung India Unveils 2024 Lineup of Neo QLED 8K TVs, Transparent Micro LED Displays, and More

Samsung has unleashed its display technologies lined up for 2024 in the Indian market. The company has unveiled a new model of its Neo QLED 8K TV with a 3rd generation NPU chipset for AI processing. Samsung has also shared a teaser for a new transparent Micro LED display panel in the country.

The company will launch glare-free OLED TVs in India, which will be 20% brighter than existing OLED models. Alongside its new TVs, Samsung has also announced a wide range of lifestyle products, which includes an 8K projector, new soundbars, etc.

Samsung Neo QLED 8K TVs: Key features

The first major announcement from Samsung is its Neo QLED 8K TVs, which now come equipped with the NQ8 Gen 3 NPU. This chipset enables upscaling capabilities in the TV up to 8K resolution using AI. It also helps to reduce motion blur while watching sports. The TV can automatically adjust the picture quality based on the content being played.

The Neo QLED 8K TVs have a thickness of just 12.9mm for an immersive viewing experience. Samsung says that the TV offers a unique mirror effect where it appears to hover in its surroundings with its Infinity Air Design. It also features Q-Symphony, which allows users to connect to multiple wireless speakers, soundbars, and even external projectors.

Samsung has also revamped its Tizen OS for its 2024 TV lineup. The new UI offers a faster content discovery experience, which will provide content suggestions based on viewing history.

Ahead of CES 2024, Samsung has unveiled its S95D TV with a glare-free design. It features a 77-inch OLED screen that is Pantone Verfified and comes with AI-enhanced colour accuracy. The new glare-free coating makes the TV up to 20% brighter.

This series also includes the S90D and the S85D OLED TVs, which are available in screen sizes ranging between 42-inch to 83-inch. Depending on the model, these TVs offer refresh rates up to 144Hz.

Samsung Micro LED TV That’s Transparent

Samsung also revealed its developments in display technologies. The company has shared a teaser for a new Micro LED TV, which is transparent. When the TV is not in use, the screen appears as a piece of transparent glass. Samsung has used extremely small Micro LED and other circuits, which are directly deposited on the surface of the glass to make the TV see-through. However, the company did not release any details about the commercial availability of this product.

Samsung’s New 8K Projector and Soundbars Announced

Samsung has also announced its Premiere 8K projector with wireless connectivity. It comes with smart features such as support for cloud gaming, always-on voice, four-view screen split, far-field microphone, and more.

The company also unveiled two soundbars. The HW-Q990D comes with an 11.1.4 channel configuration and support for Dolby Atmos Sound. The HW-S800D on the other hand is an ultra-thin 1.6-inch soundbar with ten drivers. It features a deep bass subwoofer and a passive radiator for distortion-free bass output.

Samsung’s new products, including the 2024 TV Lineup, 8K projector, and soundbars are expected to be available for purchase in India over the next few months. Some of these products will be showcased and demoed at the ongoing CES 2024.
