HP

HP is the #1 brand in India based on MSP Tech Insights. HP has garnered a 46.5% share among the top 5 brands in MySmartPrice. HP improved upon its share from 40.3%, back in September 2023, when we published the insights in September 2023. HP maintained this position by offering discounts and offers for its products right in time for the festive season and updating its line of laptops.

HP has various laptop ranges such as Envy, Spectre, Elitebook, Victus, Omen, and Pavilion. The company also has the Chromebook line of laptops as well. The Pavilion line is aimed at casual users, Spectre, Envy, and Elitebook are the premium line of laptops, while Omen and Victus are the gaming range.

Asus claimed the second spot among the top 5 laptop brands in India. Asus has an 18.5% share, which is up from the 16.4% share in the MSP insights published back in September. The extended and diversified range of laptops offered by Asus at every price point is one of the reasons Asus is getting more popular year over year.

Asus has different laptop ranges such as Vivobook, TUF, Expertbook, Republic of Gamers, Zenbook, Chromebook, and more. Vivobook is the budget lineup, Expertbook and Zenbook are the premium line, while TUF and ROG are the gaming line from Asus. Asus also diversified into Windows handheld consoles with ROG Ally this year.

Acer was placed at #5 last time we did MSP insights in September, it has jumped to #3 with a 13.5% share. Acer offers great products in the budget range, quickly becoming a default option among budget-conscious users. It might be the reason that Acer quickly climbed to third from fifth.

Acer has different laptop ranges such as Aspire, One, Swift, Extensa, Nitro, and Predator. Aspire, One, and Extensa are the different laptop lines catering to budget-oriented casual users. Nitro and Predator are the two gaming lines of laptops. Acer Swift line of laptops offers a premium experience.

Dell is placed at #4 with a share of 11.3%. Dell is one of the most recognisable names in the laptop segment globally. Dell was placed at #3 in the previous edition of MSP Insights.

Dell has different laptop ranges such as Inspiron, Vostro, XPS, Alienware, and H series. Inspiron and Vostro are the two budget lines from Dell. XPS is the premium lineup from Dell while Alienware and H are the two gaming laptops from Dell.

Lenovo is the #5 in the list with a share of 10.2%, only slightly behind Dell. Lenovo is another brand offering great laptops for budget-conscious users. But Lenovo got pushed back to fifth as Acer shot up in popularity.

Lenovo has various laptop lineups such as IdeaPad, ThinkBook, ThinkPad, LOQ, and Legion. IdeaPad is the budget line catering to casual users. ThinkBook laptops are meant for business users. ThinkPad aims to combine IdeaPad and ThinkBook. Legion and LOQ are the two gaming lineups. Like Asus, Lenovo also entered the gaming handheld space with its new Lenovo Legion Go, but it is yet to be released in India.
