WhatsApp is one of the most feature-rich instant messaging platforms globally, but that’s not stopping it from developing more convenient features. The popular WhatsApp beta tracking website, WABetaInfo, has shared a screenshot and details of the upcoming feature.
According to the website, while the feature will be available to all, it will primarily benefit WhatsApp Business users.
WhatsApp Users Will Soon Be Able to Add Contact Notes
WhatsApp Business users can save contextual information about their customers for future conversations. As you can see in the screenshot below, users can tap on the contact name within the chat and see the Notes section on the contact info page.
One of the platform’s most convenient features is the ability to message anyone without saving the contact. However, it might sometimes get confusing when checking chats with unknown numbers. The new feature will also help users add notes to such contacts and chats to remember the chat details. This is particularly helpful for those who have disappearing messages turned on by default and cannot check the chat history for context.
WABetaInfo reports that the feature will also be available to WhatsApp Web users in a future update. In the coming days, we can expect the WhatsApp Contact Note to start rolling out to mobile and web users.
Apart from the WhatsApp Contact Note, the Meta-owned instant messaging platform is also working on a Favourites section. This section will appear at the top of the app’s main chat screen. WhatsApp users can add, reorder, and remove their favourite contacts and groups for quick access.
