Asus is likely going to announce the ZenFone 7 and ROG Phone 3 around soon, if reports are to be believed. Qualcomm had released early this year in February a list of smartphones that will be housing its flagship Snapdragon 865 SoC. Both the phones were mentioned in the list and now a Taiwanese publication is claiming that the launch should be somewhere in July.

As per the report, the ROG Phone 3 and ZenFone 7 are to be unveiled by the end of Q2 2020 or the beginning of Q3 2020. The ZenFone 7 is going to be the successor of the previous year’s budget flagship ZenFone 6Z and the ROG Phone 3 is going to push forward the gaming smartphone lineup of Asus. The Taiwanese electronics giant is expecting a 30-40 percent growth in the sale of gaming smartphones.

ROG Phone 3: Expected specs

Earlier the ROG Phone 3 happened to have recently passed the WiFi Alliance’s certification with model number I003DD. Now the specs of the device are not known but we can be assured of the Snapdragon 865 SoC. Previously the ROG Phone 2 had a 120Hz refresh rate display and that is something that should be ported to the next iteration. Other gaming-centric features such as a vapour chamber cooling, capacitive buttons, high touch response latency, and more are also expected.

Asus ZenFone 7: Expected specs

The ZenFone 6 has a rotating camera wherein the rear camera was placed on a flip-out hinge which makes the rear camera act as a selfie shooter. It can be said that such an extravagant mechanism is likely not to be used in the ZenFone 7. A higher refresh rate display, punch-hole camera, in-display fingerprint sensor, are some of the things which can be expected from the device.
