Google Pixel 8a Expected Specifications

The Pixel 8a is tipped to sport a 6.1-inch OLED panel with 2400 x 1080 pixels resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The Pixel 7a was the first “a” series smartphone to debut with a higher refresh rate of 90Hz. According to the report, the display of the Pixel 8a will offer specifications similar to those of the Pixel 8 smartphone.

The OLED panel will feature a corner radius of 128px and a peak brightness of 1400 nits. The search engine giant is tipped to debut the device with support for DisplayPort output. The feature was enabled for the Google Pixel 8 series smartphones with the Android 14 QPR3 beta release, a trimmed-down version of Samsung Dex.

Google will continue to equip the smartphone with a dual rear camera setup comprising a 64MP Sony IMX 787 primary camera with a sensor size of 1/1.73-inch, f/1.89 aperture, and a 13MP Sony IMX 712 ultrawide camera.

The device will feature a centred punch-hole cutout that will house the 13MP Sony IMX 712 selfie camera. The Pixel 8a will be powered by the Google Tensor G3 processor with a Titan M2 security chip. The chipset will pair with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The Pixel 8a’s OLED display will also house the optical in-display fingerprint scanner. The “a” series smartphone will be available in 31 countries, in addition to the existing 21, the report adds.
