Samsung Galaxy A22 5G With Android R Gets Wi-Fi Alliance Certification Ahead of Launch

Samsung is working towards the launch of the Galaxy A22 5G, and it’s no secret. This particular handset is in the news from the last few weeks, thanks to several certifications and benchmark listing. Last week, we even saw the renders of the Galaxy A22 5G courtesy of popular leakster OnLeaks. The device is tipped to feature a triple-camera setup and a 6.5-inch display if we go by the earlier leak. Now, ahead of launch, the Galaxy A22 5G variant has gained the Wi-Fi Alliance certification. The listing doesn’t reveal any specs of the device, except that it disclose the software version the phone will be coming with.

Galaxy A22 5G Recevies Wi-Fi Alliance Certification

The Galaxy A22 5G that has appeared in the Wi-Fi Alliance database carries model number as SM-A226B. The Wi-Fi certification reveals that the device will run Android 11 out of the box. If we go by the previous leak, the Galaxy A22 5G will sport a 6.5-inch Infinity-V display. The phone under the hood is supposed to be powered by Dimensity 700 (MT6833V) SoC. It might pack 6GB of RAM. These hardware specifications of the Galaxy A22 5G were revealed recently through the Geekbench listing. In the benchmark results, the phone had managed to pull off 562 and 1765 points in the single-core and multi-core test respectively.

In terms of optics, the smartphone is supposed to sport a triple-camera setup. Past rumours hint that the device will incorporate a 48-megapixel main primary camera. Dimensions-wise, the handset might measure 167.2 x 76.4 x 8.7mm. It might come equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The device is tipped to launch as Samsung’s cheapest 5G smartphone. It is supposed to retail for around KRW 200,000 (Rs 13,425). The device is expected to release in two storage models, and it might be available in Gray, White, Light Green, and Violet colour option.

If we go by the previous leak, the Galaxy A22 4G model had appeared on BIS certification a few days back. The same variant was even spotted in the HTML5 test. The HTML5 results had revealed that the Galaxy A22 will run Android 11 out of the box. As of now, the launch date of the Galaxy A22 5G remains a mystery at the moment. However, now that the phone has started appearing on several certifications, its launch does seem to be imminent soon.
