Sony has officially announced the Sony WF-1000XM5 earbuds launch date. As per the teaser shared by Sony via its official Twitter handle, the Sony WF-1000XM5 will launch on July 24 at 9 AM PT (9:30 PM IST). The teaser image shared by the company describes the upcoming buds as “The Best Silence Drop”. Additionally, the tweet reads as “For the Silence. For the Sound”, suggesting that these earbuds will offer improved noise cancellation. The specifications and design of these upcoming earbuds are no secret to us considering that they have been extensively leaked in the past.
Sony WF-1000XM5 Expected to Feature 8.4mm Dynamic Driver X Setup, Three Mics, and Two Proprietary Processors
The previous leaks suggest that the Sony WF-1000XM5 will feature an 8.4mm Dynamic Driver X setup. These earbuds are expected to have dual feedback mics and two proprietary processors which could offer enhanced active noise cancellation. Furthermore, these upcoming earbuds are also rumoured to feature three additional mics which could offer improved audio quality and help with ambient noise detection.

Furthermore, the past leak also reveals that these earbuds will also support DSEE Extreme and HiRes Audio. The earbuds are also supposed to offer IPX4 rating support. As for the battery capacity, the Sony WF-1000XM5 charging case might pack a 5,00mAh battery which could offer 24-hour battery backup. The earbuds are said to offer 1 hour of usage with three minutes of charging time. These upcoming earbuds are also tipped to have bone conduction sensors, Precise Voice Pickup technology support, and touch control.

The Sony WF-1000XM5 might also have Bluetooth v5.3 support. Previously, these earbuds were also spotted on FCC certification. The certification revealed the design of the earbuds. Additionally, in the past, these upcoming earbuds have received certification from Wireless Power Consortium which also suggests that these earbuds will have a Qi wireless charging support.
The past leak disclosed that these earbuds could retail for €319.99 (roughly Rs 29,476). The leaked pricing suggests that the Sony WF-1000XM5 will be Rs 6,500 costlier than the Sony WF-1000XM5. These earbuds are tipped to debut in Silver and Black colour options. We shall get to learn the detailed specifications, pricing, and availability of these earbuds once it launches on July 24.
