WWDC 2023 dates have been announced. Apple has confirmed that it will host its annual developer event in June 2023. The Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) 2023 will kick off on June 5 and go on till June 9. Apple is expected to announce a bunch of new software updates at the developer event. The main highlight, in terms of software, could be the upcoming iOS 17. Alongside, Apple is also likely to announce iPadOS 17, macOS 14 and watchOS 10. The company might also unveil its new, much-talked-about Mixed Reality (MR) headset at the event.

Here’s a quick look at what to expect from WWDC 2023 ahead of the official announcement.

WWDC 2023: What to Expect

The 34th WWDC 2023 event will go live on June 5. Apple will host the event from Apple Park in Cupertino California and broadcast it live for viewers worldwide.

WWDC is free for all developers who can attend the in-person event and get details about the latest iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS advancements. Those who get to attend the event can also connect with Apple engineers and get insights into new technologies and tools.

The upcoming WWDC event will also include sessions, one-on-one labs, and opportunities to engage with Apple engineers and other developers.

Apple did not reveal any details about the upcoming products or services that it plans to launch or announce at the event. We can expect iOS 17 to be unveiled alongside iPadOS 17, macOS 14, watchOS 10, etc.

The upcoming iOS update is said to get significant upgrades. Apple is likely to offer several user-requested features and not push the update as just a bug fix. It was previously reported that Apple will focus more on stability. However, looks like there is more in store for iPhone users. “The goal of the software, codenamed “Dawn,” is to check off several of users’ most requested features,” according to Mark Gurman, who leaked the details about the upcoming iOS update.

iPadOS 17 might get some more add-ons on top of the new iOS 17 features for large-screen devices. Unfortunately, not a lot is known about the upcoming macOS or watchOS updates at the moment.

Apple might also announce its first MR headset, which was reportedly showcased to select senior executives earlier this month. In addition to this, there could be the launch of new MacBook models, namely the new Mac Pro with the M2 Ultra chip and possibly the MacBook Air 15-inch.

The rumoured Mac Pro is the only machine in Apple’s Mac lineup to get a taste of the M-series chip. The 2019 Mac Pro, which is currently the latest one, features an Intel chip inside. Apple might launch the Mac Pro 2023 with the new M2 Ultra SoC, which could be announced at the event.

Based on the rumoured timeline, it looks like enthusiasts are in for a busy WWDC 2023.
