Xiaomi’s next Android flagship smartphones have been doing rounds of the rumour mill for quite a while. The Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro are set to succeed the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro respectively from the last year. These were initially rumoured to go official in November but as per a fresh report, the launch could happen much earlier. Here is what is known so far.

Xiaomi 14 Series Launch Date Leaked

A new report from ITHome has claimed the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro could launch on October 27 in China. The newly rumoured launch date is based on the information obtained from Xiaomi’s offline store personnel and multiple bloggers in the country.

It is believed that Xiaomi wants to be the first OEM to announce smartphones packed with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. This will be Qualcomm’s best and greatest smartphone chipset once it launches. The annual Snapdragon Summit has been scheduled for October 24 to 26 in Haiwai. It is expected to take wraps off the new Android flagship processor at the same event.

The October 27 launch date for the Xiaomi 14 series means the company wants to be as quick as possible when it comes to announcing these smartphones. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor was recently rumoured to have crossed the 2 million mark on AnTuTu. It was said to have scored more than 440,000 in the CPU test and over 840,000 in the GPU test.

The report adds Xiaomi has already received mandatory network access certification, 3C certification, and radio approval from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro are said to have model numbers 23127PN0CC and 23116PN5BC respectively.

Xiaomi is rumoured to offer significant upgrades with the upcoming flagship series. The Pro model is said to have a 50MP primary camera sensor with a sensor size of 1/1.28-inch. It will have variable aperture support that will range from f/1.4 to f/4.0. This is similar to what we saw on the Xiaomi 13 Ultra too. It is further expected to have a telephoto sensor with 5x optical zoom.

The smartphone is tipped to sport an AMOLED display with 2K resolution. It is further said to offer up to 144Hz refresh rate. It is even expected to have a titanium frame and satellite connectivity. There will be a 5,000mAh battery with 120W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.

The battery capacity is expected to be 4,800mAh on the Xiaomi 14. It will have 90W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. Both smartphones are said to boot MIUI 15 based on Android 14 out of the box. It is unknown if both flagships will become available for purchase soon after the announcement or if fans will have to wait for a while.
