Xiaomi might launch a new foldable phone very soon. The company has, so far, launched two foldable phones, namely the Mix Fold and Mix Fold 2. The devices did not make it to India and were exclusive to China. Xiaomi is now working on the launch of the Mix Fold 3. The company has not confirmed any details about the upcoming Xiaomi foldable phone. Meanwhile, new details about the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 have leaked online.
A new leak has revealed some key details about the design and hardware specifications of the upcoming Xiaomi foldable phone. The leaked details shared by tipster Digital Chat Station reveal (via) that the Mix Fold 3 will feature the latest Snapdragon flagship SoC under the hood. Also, the company is likely to feature a new hinge design. Let’s take a look at the leaked Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 specifications, features and other details revealed so far.
Xiaomi Mix Fold 3: Specifications Leaked So Far
Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 might launch later this year. The foldable phone will take on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Oppo Find N2 in China. Ahead of the launch, new details shared by tipster Digital Chat Station reveal that the Mix Fold 3 will launch with a white curved glass body. The device is said to feature a quad-camera system on the back with some top-of-the-line specifications.
There will also be a new waterdrop hinge for the foldable display, which is also said to feature in the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 5. The tipster also added that the Mix Fold 3 will continue to focus on providing a thin and lightweight design.
In addition to the design details, tipster Digital Chat Station added that the device will feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC under the hood. The foldable phone will also offer 67W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging support. There is no word on the battery capacity. The Mix Fold 2 came with a 4500mAh battery.
Xiaomi is also said to feature two telephoto camera sensors. One of the two sensors will offer 3.2x optical zoom, whereas the periscope lens will offer 5x zoom. As expected, the other two sensors will shoot wide and ultra-wide images.
At the time of writing this, there is no word on the display size or the camera sensor specifications of the device. We can expect more details to be available soon. Xiaomi launched the Mix Fold 2 last year in August. We can expect the Mix Fold 3 to launch around the same timeline this year. The Mix Fold 2 was launched with a triple-camera setup on the back. It features an 8.02-inch foldable 2K AMOLED display and a 6.56-inch cover display. Both displays refresh up to 120Hz.
The device has a 20MP front camera. It also features a triple-camera setup with a 50MP Sony IMX766 main camera sensor, a 13MP ultrawide camera and an 8MP telephoto camera with 2x zoom. The Mix Fold 2 features a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, a 4500mAh battery and dual speakers. It weighs about 262 grams and measures 5.4mm when unfolded.
