Xiaomi recently confirmed that the company would launch the successor to the Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold 2. Xiaomi President Lu Weibing revealed that Xiaomi would launch the Mi Mix Fold 3 smartphone in China in August. Xiaomi’s President revealed the launch timeline of the upcoming foldable smartphone in response to a user. However, he has yet to reveal whether the smartphone would launch in the global markets. Recently, Digital Chat Station tipped the specifications of the upcoming smartphone. We have spotted the smartphone on the 3C certification website ahead of the developments. The certification reveals the fast-charging capability and model number of the upcoming smartphone.
Mi Mix Fold 3 3C Certification
The 3C certification reveals that the upcoming Mi Mix Fold 3 will bear the model number 2308CPXD0C (C represents the Chinese variant). The forthcoming device will be equipped with an MDY-12-EF charger and will bring support for 67W fast charging tech. The listing reveals that the MDY-12-EF adapter will have a regular output of 5VDC 3A and fast output of 5-20VDC 6.2-3.25A.
Apart from this, the 3C certification doesn’t reveal any other specifications of the upcoming foldable smartphone. Xiaomi’s President revealed that the company has launched a new smart factory in China. The upcoming Mix Fold 3 will be manufactured in the new factory, improving the build quality in many aspects. The new plant will also ensure that the upcoming smartphone will be thinner and more robust.
Xiaomi’s President also reveals that Xiaomi will continue the Leica partnership for the forthcoming foldable device. The upcoming foldable smartphone is expected to compete against the forthcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and OPPO Find N3. Digital Chat Station had revealed that Xiaomi would equip the upcoming device with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. According to the tipster, the upcoming device will feature a white curved glass body.
The tipster also reveals the device would feature a quad rear camera with flagship sensors. Mi Mix Fold 3 is expected to feature a 50MP Sony IMX858 primary sensor. Xiaomi will also equip the smartphone with a secondary ultra-wide-angle, telephoto, and periscope lens. The smartphone is also tipped to support 50W wireless charging tech similar to Xiaomi 13 Pro. The device is also expected to bring an in-display fingerprint scanner on the primary display.
The Mi Mix 2 has an inner 8.02-inch AMOLED display with a 1914 x 2160 pixels resolution. The device has an outer 6.56-inch AMOLED display with 1080 x 2520 pixels. The display has a refresh rate of 120Hz, and a peak brightness of 1300 nits, and gets Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection.
Underneath, the device features Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, built on a 4nm process. The chipset is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage. Regarding optics, the device features a triple rear camera with a 50MP primary camera, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and 8MP telephoto lens. Xiaomi equips the smartphone with a 20MP selfie camera. The device is backed by a 4,500 mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging.
