The ROG Phone Series has skipped on OIS for over six generations now. The original ROG Phone 1 in 2018 had 4-axis OIS, a setup similar to the company’s Zenfone 5. The return of OIS on the ROG Phone 8 is expected to significantly improve the camera performance of the phone.

Renders of the ROG Phone 8 were recently spotted in leaked renders, which revealed the possible design of the device. The series is expected to feature three devices: the ROG Phone 8, the ROG Phone 8 Pro, and the ROG Phone 8 Ultimate. ASUS may also launch a new cooling fan accessory with its latest gaming phone.

Renders suggest that the base model ROG Phone 8 could get a matte finish, whereas the Pro and Ultimate models may feature a glossy design. However, ASUS has not officially showcased the design and texture of the phone yet.

The ROG Phone 8 Series was also spotted on Geekbench with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The listing also showed the presence of 24GB of RAM. The ROG Phone 8 was also seen clearing the 3C certification which suggests that the phone may feature 65W fast charging.

While the ROG Phone Series has been the talk of the show for ASUS, the company was recently struck with rumours of shutting down its Zenfone Series. However, ASUS denied those claims. Furthermore, the Zenfone 11 Ultra was spotted on the Bluetooth SIG certification portal along with the ROG Phone 8 and the ROG Phone 8 Pro.

The ASUS ROG Phone 8 Series will be launched in China on January 16, 2024. However, ASUS will be unveiling the device at CES 2024, ahead of its China launch. ASUS has also confirmed that the ROG Phone 8 Series will be launching in India next year. We can expect the ASUS ROG Phone 8 pricing to start at Rs 80,000.
