ASUS recently started teasing the launch of the upcoming ASUS ROG Phone 8 series smartphones. The X (formerly Twitter) account of ASUS India also started teasing the launch, confirming the India debut of the ROG Phone 8 series smartphones. The upcoming ROG Phone 8 series smartphones will be a successor to the ASUS ROG Phone 7 series smartphones, which include ROG Phone 7 and ROG Phone 7 Ultimate.

The forthcoming ROG Phone 8 series smartphone has made its appearance in IMEI, Bluetooth SIG, and GeekBench listings. The upcoming ROG Phone 8 series will likely include ROG Phone 8, ROG Phone 8 Pro, and ROG Phone 8 Ultimate. ASUS has confirmed that the smartphone will be announced at the upcoming CES 2024 event. The Weibo handle of ROG reveals the launch date of the device in the Chinese market.

ASUS ROG Phone 8 Series Launch Date

ASUS has revealed through a post in X (formerly Twitter) that it will debut its lineup for 2024 at the CES 2024 event. ASUS’s announcement at the CES 2024 will begin at 3 PM PST on January 8. The Taiwanese giant is also likely to launch the ROG Zephyris G14 laptop in the event. The Weibo account of ROG confirms that the ROG Phone 8 series will debut on January 16 in China.

The event will kick off at 7.30 PM (UTC + 8) and will be live streamed through the social media accounts of ASUS in China. ASUS is running a blind camera test on its website, which asks users to select the best-looking images. The website will greet with the render (via) of the upcoming ROG Phone 8 series smartphone once the user finishes the task.

The image offers a clear look into the rear design of the smartphone, revealing more design elements from the teaser image. ASUS will equip the upcoming ROG smartphones with a rectangular camera setup with triple rear cameras. The RGB logo, GLHF, and Est 1993 texts can be seen on the rear of the device.

The right side of the device sports a secondary USB Type-C port for better orientation to charge while gaming and connect the various ROG accessories. The blind test conducted by ASUS has samples taken at telephoto 3x and telephoto 10x zoom.

ASUS is likely to ship the ROG smartphones with a telephoto sensor for the maiden time. The company previously teased the smartphone with the caption “Beyond Gaming,” hinting at the capabilities of the device apart from gaming. The Taiwanese giant previously confirmed that the upcoming smartphones will sport Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.

The GeekBench listing divulges that ASUS will equip the overclocked Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. The upcoming ROG 8 series smartphones have scored 2235 points in single-core and 7098 points in multi-core tests.

The 3C certification of the device divulges the support for 65W wired fast charging tech. The forthcoming devices will run on customized ROG UI based on Android 14 out of the box. The triple rear camera setup will include a primary rear camera and ultrawide sensor apart from telephoto sensors.
