Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has finally taken the wraps off its Redmi 9A smartphone in Malaysia. The Redmi 9A has made several rounds on the internet courtesy of the various leaks and rumors it has been a part of and it is finally officially launched now. The device has so far been introduced only in Malaysia, but we can expect it to be made available to other markets in the near future. The Redmi 9A features a 6.53-inch IPS LCD panel, a large 5,000mAh battery, and a MediaTek Helio G25 processor. Redmi 9A: Price and availability
The Redmi 9A is priced at RM 359, which roughly translates to somewhere around $83.8 or INR 6,300. The device is introduced in Midnight Gray, Peacock Green and Twilight Blue color schemes and will go on sale on July 7, 2020.

Starting with the display of the device, the Redmi 9A features a 6.53-inch HD+ IPS LCD panel with a tall 20:9 aspect ratio owing to a waterdrop notch. The waterdrop notch makes room for a 5MP selfie snapper. At the back, the Redmi 9A comes with a 13MP primary camera with an LED flash.
Under the hood, the Redmi 9A is equipped with a 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio G25 processor, which is paired with 2GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 32GB of eMMC 5.1 storage. If 32GB is not sufficient enough for your media consumption needs, the same can be increased all the way up to 512GB with the help of an external SD card. On the software side of things, the Redmi 9A ships with Android 10-based MIUI 11 out of the box. By the way, the device is upgradeable to MIUI 12, by the way.
Coming to the battery of the device, the Redmi 9A is fueled by a massive 5,000mAh battery, which receives power over a USB Type-C charging port. Connectivity features of the Redmi 9A include Dual SIM, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5, GPS, and GLONASS.
