It has been well over a year since Ubisoft first introduced Rainbow Six Mobile to the gaming world. The game is meant to bring the popular Tom Clancy’s Rainbox Six Siege gameplay to mobile devices so gamers can jump into the battlefield from anywhere and anytime. The hype and anticipation for the December 2023 release was quite high but as things have turned out, Rainbox Six Mobile seems to have been delayed for another year.

Rainbow Six Mobile Release Quietly Postponed to 2024

As reported by DroidLocal and shared by a Reddit user on the AndroidGaming subreddit, the Rainbow Six Mobile release has now been pushed back to 2024. Ubisoft has not officially announced the delay yet, but the App Store listing for the game mentions September 2024 as the new expected release date.

This is undoubtedly disappointing news for Rainbow Six fans who were eagerly waiting for the mobile version of the game. The much-anticipated title was originally planned for a release in December 2023. The reason for the delay is unknown but gamers are now looking at a new release timeline that stretches to nearly one more year.

The Reddit thread shows mixed responses from users who claim to be among the Rainbow Six Mobile beta testers. Some have said the game seems to be ready for prime time while others have suggested it still needs a lot of work. Considering the delayed timeline, we are inclined to believe the latter part.

Unexpected delays are not an uncommon occurrence in the gaming industry. Even the biggest gaming studios have postponed their much-awaited titles multiple times in the past. This holds for all types of games regardless of the platform and devices they are meant for. Ubisoft’s other much-anticipated title Skulls & Bones has also faced several delays and is now scheduled to arrive in February 2024.

For the uninitiated, Rainbow Six Mobile is a mobile adaptation of the popular Rainbow Six Siege title meant for PCs and consoles. The game has a multiplayer tactical first-person shooter gameplay. It will have fast-paced 5v5 Attack vs Defense matches featuring multiple highly-trained Operators and maps.

Each Operator in the game has unique abilities and gadgets. Ubisoft has currently listed 10 Attacker Operators and 9 Defender Operators on its website. As for maps, it currently mentions Bank, Border, Clubhouse, and Oregon but says more maps will be introduced in future updates. Rainbow Six Mobile is available for Android and iOS devices in regions where beta testing has been opened.
